Coniston Park Coppice recommended pitches?

OK, it's in the middle of woodland we know that.  In 12 years of caravanning we've never visited this often recommended site - we go next week and wondered if any members had recommendations for some of the more open pitches?  The sort that are perhaps in the sunshine in the day / afternoon at this time of year when the sun gets lower in the sky.  Obviously we might not have much choice if there's lots of units on site, but was wondering the best part of the site to head to?  It looks massive and sprawling - if I drove past a pitch I liked the look of, I'd never be able to find it again ;-)

Thanks in advance for any ideas / suggestions

I have stayed twice and my preference has been for the pitches at the top of the site which are more open. These are closest to the road.

When we arrived on the site it was recommended if we wanted somewhere a bit quieter we head for the top right area of the site map (pitch 1 onwards) there are some open areas there but like the rest of the site there are very few totally open. Pitches in the 60s area were fairly open but if I recall there's a lot of slate chippings underfoot. Have a look at the satellite view, that might be of help?

I've been through it several times!  Also done it virtually on Google Streetview.  I learned to do my research after going the bus station area in Newton Abbot on our first caravanning summer break!

Been there a number of times, the site slops downwards to the lake but most pitches are level, also a lot of trees but look on the site plan and pitches 51- 69 are the most open to sunlight and the whole area is level. Also easy access to the facilities through a path at the back. Also close to the entrance.

Of interest - there are (or were) machines that empty, clean and refill your cassette toilet!
