On a recent visit to a club sight ,I encountered my neighbour having a ground level bbq, the flames were quite high ,and the Bergers  a bit over cooked, in the morning I noticed burn holes and scorch marks in the roof of my brand new ,£800 blow up awning ,the hole was 25 mms from the main air tube, I reported to wardens and I await there  responce, I don't know what the out come will be,so should the club ban open fired bbqs? That burn charcoal and bricketts, that give off flying embers, so for now beware members.

I would have thought you might need to have taken it up with your neighbour when you discovered the damage if you are hoping for compensation although they may or may not have been cooperative in that regard.  Can you trace them now....?

If you are waiting for the wardens to contact you with that info you may find the club reluctant due to GDPR etc.....?

    Sad - but likely true.

Can the club enlighten us members as to what they would do to assist?

I am not sure what is meant by "ground level", but as far as charcoal BBQ's are concerned, they do not usually give off flying embers. Does the OP want Charcoal BBQ's banned?

Flying embers are usually from wood fires, on which wood with a tendency to crackle and pop a bit. I believe that fires are not allowed on club sites.

Those bags of easy light charcoal, where you light the bag do. As do the disposable sort where you light a layer of thick paper above the charcoal.
