Whilst walking around merrose site we observed a chap fetched his water in his large 4x4 50 m from his pitch drive around the the site at the 5mph good lad and back to his caravan good job Greta Thunberg wa not about and he was not on a disabled pitch

One can still have physical difficulties even if not occupying a disabled pitch and I’m sure the guy had good reason.
I have used the car to take the toilet cassette to the emptying point when having an off day but I’d never expect anyone to comment on it😟

It's his holiday, and disabled or not, if that's what he wants to do to make his holiday easier well that is up to him really.

Yep, nobody who tows a caravan or drives a MH purely for pleasure can claim to be green.
Also, there are a lot of folk who would dearly love to be able to pull Aquarolls along as they did 20 years ago.
There are quite a few people, too, who enjoy winding others up. All life can be found within CAMC😉

It is just possible that he may have some difficulty walking (as I have at the moment due to a recent knee operation).However it is difficult for me in my advanced years to lift a full 40 ltr aquarol into the back of my large 4x4 so.......do I hobble painfully to the tap and back or do i take the car and struggle to lift 40 ltrs of water into and out of the car??

Yes - there are some of us like that - but we find ways around it so that we can continue with our hobby. I have a condition that means I can't kneel down - or that I have to be very careful when I do, Hence having E&P fitted for levelling and taking the garden 'kneeler' with me to assist with pegging out the awning. I also make no apologies for taking the car to the washing up sink (at the other end of the site) on a certain CS we go to with the heavy Weber BBQ in it - to clean it.
Where Greta Thunberg fits into all of this when I'm tugging a 2 tonne caravan around with a 3 litre diesel-engined 4x4, I don't know - but I'll continue to do it as long as I'm allowed.

I’m thinking the young Lady is trying to get big business onboard to save millions of tons of pollutants she is all about the big picture & the Planet not individuals on teeny tiny scales🙂👍🏻

That's assuming all those those jobs are done by one person? Also some of them do not have to be done manually at all.
I'm pretty fit but winding is all but done by my electric drill, hitching is done by the mover and hardly requires any physical effort. Likewise levelling is just turning a handle, very little effort, and sideways levelling is done with the mover.

They can be fit enough David. From Feb 2019 up to about Feb 2020 I was on a stick. Winding on the motormover with electric drill and positioning the 'van and using the drill on the steadies was not too difficult but then I would have to sit on a chair and rest my left leg before completing other chores. Meanwhile Fliss often got the water. I did use the car for the toilet cassette on several occasions and also to go for a shower on occasion.
A few years earlier I had foolishly walked 100 yds to exchange a small 3.9 kg gas bottle when I had usually driven. Thee result was that my arthritic spine suffered and I was in pain for a further day. Not made that mistake since
I have seen others far worse that caravanned. A work colleague who walked with difficulty using two sticks as a result of childhood rheumatic fever regularly caravanned on his own

+1, I employ every time & energy saving device I can, yet I then go out for a 10mile hike or a run🤷🏻♂️. Choice is king.

If you are towing a caravan or driving a motor caravan you have all the facilities on board so why not use them!I often wonder about persons on site who will go to the tap and fill a bottle or a kettle,who will toddle across the site to the ablution block in slippers and dressing gown and then back to their unit to get dressed!I am pleased to find that sites with no shower block have,in the main,vacancies at present whereas sites with all mod cons are booked solid.

Depends very much on what the disability is. They may be OK at walking but not so good at lifting a heavy cassette or pulling an aqua roll / waste master. Unless they are on a service pitch those activities are much increased if you use your own facilities.

then get a service pitch where waste water will go straight down the drain or even a super pitch?

have you thought about using hotels for your trips......no fetching a bottle of water,no washing up,no showering "in a cupboard" no trotting to the facilities in a dressing gown and crocs,no emptying your shit!!

Its all there. Everyone has their own way of achieving daily living tasks, and being able to continue to enjoy their hobbies. They just need leaving alone without comment. 🤷♀️
