Finding CL Sites in Scotland
Hi all, have just re-joined the CC, now with a campervan, after a few years break from caravanning.
Now we have our new van, we have been plotting tours of various areas, with a preference of CL locations.
We are trying to plan a tour of the Scottish W Coast top to bottom, but, and maybe this is just us, finding areas that have CL's in them (if we search by the map), are few and far between or non existent. However if we hit lucky by searching by Town, we have come across a few.
Which begs the question, why, when you select 'CL Sites' on the search by map option, do they not show ?
As said, it could of course be 'user error', but if anyone has worked out how to do this, then grateful of your advice.
We are very much, 'lets go there' type of visitors, so finding stops by a map is much easier, as we can also then plot routes to follow.
Appreciate any help, tips etc.
Thanks

Unfortunately there are not that many CLs in Scotland, especially on the west coast, but if I go to map search, tick CLs and untick Club sites, I do get a few. Those with facilities are even fewer in number.
Do you have the sites app? OH, who decides where we go, finds that easier to search with.
Choose a location, e.g. Fort William, select the facilities you want, expand the search area to the maximum distance, select show on a map, and you should get several. Click on the icons for more info.
UK Campsite also has a good search function and will show Club sites, CLs, CCC sites and their CSs, as well as commercial sites.

Searchforsites can also be used to find not only CLs but also other sites and places that accept M/Hs for a night stop.

Old fashioned, but oh so easy.......Club Handbook and Map. Plot your route, then take a look at the CLs you think might be in a location that suits, and then get a good look at them online. Like others on here, we use other websites as well to find touring Sites.

When was the information on map and handbook last up to date/ Probably two months before it was printed back in 2021.
