Canine Partners
I'm pretty new to CAMC so if I'm not allowed to post this, I apologise. Having seen a Charities and Good Causes area, I just wanted to throw in a thought, in case anyone is looking for a charity to support. I had a rare spinal injury in 2012 whilst living abroad. One of the first things I did when we came back to the UK is apply for an assistance dog. I applied through the charity Canine Partners and eventually brought my own canine partner, Liggy, home with me in November 2017. She has totally changed my life!
If you are interested, please have a look at these two videos on YouTube. One is my own... filmed during lockdown to show how Liggy helps me in the home. The other was recorded pre-Covid but released a few weeks ago for International Assistance Dog Week.
Lots of people know about Guide Dogs for the Blind but Canine Partners is a much smaller charity and relies on charitable giving for all its funding. So if you want to support an animal/disability related charity, please consider Canine Partners.

What a beautiful and clever dog! I'm lost for words, tbh. I can only guess at the difference Liggy has made to your life, Finns. A charity well worth supporting👍.

Nice post Finnberrys😁 Lovely dog. It might get moved down into the Charities, Good Causes section, so don’t be surprised. It’s further down the list of posting areas, but usually well read.

Thank you both. This morning has been a fantastic example of how Liggy helps me, even when she's not specifically doing anything. The last few days, we've been doing our first solo adventure (hubby couldn't get leave) and today is our last day. The site (Waleswood) is excellent for accessibility, including the elsan point, which I normally daren't even contemplate. So this morning, I decided to brave it and empty the loo myself. I was going to leave Liggy in the van but she didn't look like she approved of my plan. She came with me and sat nicely whilst I did the job.
I would have felt really self conscious, wheeling along with a toilet cassette on my lap but having Liggy there almost always takes the attention off me, so I wasn't as bothered.
To be fair, she also picked up my wheelchair glove that I dropped whilst sorting it all out. So she did a proper task as well as just being there for me.

Finberrys, excellent vids thanks. I loved Liggy not only putting the stairlift seat into a safe position but giving it an extra tap to flush it👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
A point if I may, the donation process is a bit of a long haul & comes across as demanding-‘You must give your email address’, this is not a criticism it’s hopefully a helpful suggestion-would you see if your Canine partners organisation could use PayPal, I’m convinced doing this would increase donations. The one tap(PayPal) giving is quick & non intrusive yet if needed all details are held by PayPal to fulfil any legal obligations. A lot of potential givers may possibly be put off by the layers of info requested pre donation.

I usually use Just Giving. I think that is easier. Next time I set up a fundraiser, I'll post on here. I'll also pass on to Canine Partners about the complicated process for donating. Thanks for letting me know about that.
