We have a Lunar caravan and would love to upgrade the MTPLM to its maximum value (which would be more than adequate) but as Lunar are no longer trading we can find no way to do this.  Does anyone have any bright ideas?

Might be a bit of a long shot but "The Lunar Owners Club" might have some advice.

The upgrades to caravans is normally to what the max the axles are designed to carry there should be a plate on the axle tube with the max load  you could try giving the chassis manufacturers a call , they may be able to help

Good luck with your Lunar. I asked for mine to be upgraded when I bought the caravan and was told an upgrade was not possible. I since discovered the rating on the label on the axle was the same as the MTPL. Lunar had fitted the cheapest axle possible. 1350KG.

This company will sort out upgrades to powered vehicles. Even if they can’t help with a caravan, they may know a man who can.

The chassis manufacturer is not responsible for limiting the MTPLM of a finished caravan. Only the caravan manufacturer is and only he can issue a new plate unless the caravan has been IVA‘d by a third party. As Tinwheeler mentioned, SVtech is such a company that does that sort of thing for motorhomes. Theoretically you could do it yourself. Best get in touch with the VCA who should be able to put you on the right track and let you know what the procedure is.

Lunar Caravan Owners Technical Support Group ( Facebook)  have been investigating upgraded weight plates for Lunar caravans. There is a file on their pages regarding this.
