Suggestions for Wales for 2022
Hello.
We are starting to plan for 2022 and have decided Wales might be nice, but as usual we are not sure why or what we hope to see and do 
I like the idea of visiting the waterfalls so some suggestions of sites please and I won't be offended if they are not CAMC sites.
Only a couple of requirements
Dog friendly and a pub within walking distance

We stayed here a few years ago http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/hendre_mynach_touring_and_campin.html There is a railway (local not mainline) between the site and the beach but its only a short walk to the level crossing for access to a lovely beach or the prom into Barmouth. Don't know about a pub but there is bound to be one between the site and Barmouth.

If you want a waterfall the biggest in Wales is Pistyll Rhaeadr and a nearby campsite is Henstent Park. Dogs are free but I will leave you to check about pub there.

We've just had a week at Gowerton. Super site but not if you want the standard car park layout of a modern CAMC site.
Waterfalls are a short drive away but make a good day out.
ZipWorld at the old Tower colliery at Aberdare.
Lovely dog walk, and easy footpath access to the local village with pubs.
Superb scenery and beaches all over the Gower are dow friendly.
We went as far afield as Tenby for a day out. Designer shopping centre at Bridgeend, waterfront at Swansea has nice restaraunts and maritime museum.

As an alternative to waterfalls, how about beaches? Three Cliffs Bay site at Penmaen has what must be one of the most beautiful views possible or Pitton Cross site near Rhossili - the beach described by tripadvisor as "the best in Britain". Both are dog friendly, not sure how far the nearest pubs are though.

Yes, we went for the superb beaches, did a lovely Pembrokeshire and a bit further North tour a few years ago. The walk along Bosherton Ponds and out onto Barafundle beach is simple stunning. Lots of nice dog friendly CLs and pubs in Pembrokeshire. There’s Freshwater East Club Site practically on the beach if it needs to be a Club Site. We got more waterfalls than we bargained for as well. Never seen rain like it, strangely attractive in a different way watching storm clouds twisting up the valleys. We christened them “weather worms”

No waterfalls but the ultimate in dog friendly is surely Pembrey Country Park. Acres of park adjoin the site with the beach at the end. There are attractions in the park, a cafe is one, and plenty of hostelries nearby.

I suspect the highlight of Llanelli is the retail park at Parc Trostre😀. Yes, I take your point in that respect.
Pembrey Country Park itself I enjoy and the Gower, plus the area west of Pembrey. I’ve not found the site depressing🤷🏻♂️

Llanberis is quite a nice spot for a few days and its an easy walk from the site mentioned by WTG to the other end of the village where all the main tourist attractions are including the Mountain Railway. There is another narrow gauge railway that goes along the far side of the lake and there is also the excellent Slate Museum which is free.

That brings back very happy memories of racing the train at Tywyn, WTG. I don't know if the event is still going but it used to be a sell out and one of the great annual summer events for me (although I only managed to beat the train once!)
Tywyn, if I remember correctly is a lovely old fashioned seaside town. I can't remember the name of the site we stayed at, it would have been in our camping days, somewhere near Tal-y-llyn lake and I think we may have climbed Cader Idris direct from the site or certainly nearby.

We had a lovely couple of weeks not far from Tywyn, but in a cottage. Very nice area.

On the Wales/England border, lots of other interesting places around to visit, and plenty of Site alternatives. Might be slightly less busy than some of the other better known waterfalls.

Well, if you can stomach yet another suggestion…
Coed y Llwyn CAMC site near Porthmadog, has a pub across the lane, we didn’t go in, but it was popular. We don’t have a dog but there is a dog walk.
The super wardens have a leaflet with a 30 minute walk to one of the most peaceful and beautiful (but not the highest) waterfalls we have seen. It has a gorgeous clear pool for swimming for dogs or people. It was so lovely we went twice.
You could also visit Swallow Falls and Aber Falls on a day out.
Porthmadog has dog friendly beaches and I think the Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland Railway, both from Porthmadog, are dog friendly too.
We have recently had a fabulous week there in mixed weather, loads to do, immediately booked for 2022.

Your worst bit will be the cross country from Norfolk. No easy route. Everywhere in Wales have good waterfalls. Plenty indicated here. Sort out your route to Wales and then pick where. As far as dogs go they are welcome but only on leads its sheep country with plenty of problems from visiting dogs. You may find the landowners not too sympathetic if your mut causes problems.
