Mercedes GLE 250 4matic suspension problem

Hi,

This is my first time using the forum, so here goes...

I used to tow with a ML270 which towed like a dream. I recently changed to a 2017 GLE 250 4matic specifically to tow my Lunar Delta twin axel. It actually tows extremely well, however, the suspension dips so much that the caravan dips down. I have always loaded the van in the same way but on my last trip specifically moved all heavy items to the rear to see if that made a difference - it didn't. Unfortunately, my new car does not come with air suspension.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions?

I wouldn't load the rear of the caravan to help level it as you're then towing a pendulum. Short of swapping your GLE for a car with Airmatic I can only suggest some kind of spring assisters such as MAD https://mad-suspension.co.uk/

Many thanks to both for your comments. Upon reading the MAD description from their website I thought it produced the solution I was looking for. Unfortunately the don't make the required springs for the GLE, so I'm back to square one. Thanks for the suggestion of sport springs David, I'll make more enquires on this front.

There are other assisters apart from MAD 😉
