Site facilities post 19th July
Can we have an update from the Club on the lifting of restrictions on club sites? Will showers, toilets and washing-up facilities be opened to full capacity. Can we say farewell to rubber bands in nappysan? Will there be conflict between maskers and non-maskers?

Tricky having a shave with a mask on. Why not use the luxurious facilities available in most caravans.

Give em chance, CnC. The details were only given by the PM yesterday.
See the Visitors thread - an update is on the way.

We're a bit short of luxurious facilities in our old van ( we have to heat water by gas!), but it's good to know that they're available in most caravans. I'll be round to yours for a wash and brushup CY
Meanwhile, the Club has known this was coming, TW, so I thought that they'd have already drawn up plans.

They still had to wait for the details to be announced before any plans could be finalised. Why not email the club and ask for details? The front page tells us to check the website again soon.👍

Don’t think the club can answer that question about conflict between Maskers and non-maskers! Only we members can answer that one. The club could ‘insist’ that masks are to be worn in certain places like office/toilet blocks/ info rooms etc. but who in the right mind would want to police that. The conflict will be Boris made in my opinion as confusion reigns amongst some folk.
Rather than ‘Freedom Day’ some are calling it ‘Free for All Day’ as some will just go silly and not heed what will now appear to be advice only!

I Agree, it could well go the way of Holland, although they don’t have as many vaccinated as us, which hopefully gives us an advantage. They unlocked on the 26th June. Since then infections have increased 8 fold and they have reimposed some controls. At one nightclub alone, of 600 attendees 165 tested positive.

This is totally irresponsible and the abandonment of the precautionary principle. A few more weeks before making any changes would have been sensible. The WHO and a lot of scientists think the Government is mad. I agree.
If you feel the Club is wrong let them know.

Please note that the Welsh FM has announced that the wearing of Face masks will remain in place for public transport, shops and accessing health care even after the next review on 7th.August, so obviously will in place after the 19th.July.
So if coming to Wales please ensure that you are fully aware of the local requirements and remember to bring your redundant face mask if coming from England.
Pubs and hospitality sectors won't be required to insist on face masks being worn but each individual business will have to make it's own risk assessment.

I think we need to know how the club intend to open up given the governments ‘advice’ to the ‘sensible’ before we can ascertain if they are wrong or not. The devil will be in the detail and a possible disaster charter, for the less sensible and those lacking social skills, may prevail.

This is typical hyperbole for a PM that just looks for a photo opportunity or catchy phrase that will show him in a good light.
It will not be Freedom for Millions of Clinically Vulnerable People who have enjoyed a taste of freedom recently but who are now being advised to go back into their shell and most support systems for them will be withdrawn.

Once again a more sober and cautious approach to easing restrictions here in Wales. Some minor changes now in regard to social distancing and numbers meeting indoors. The move to Alert Level Zero on August 7th is heavily weighted by current infection levels reducing and no new variants evolving. So nothing set in stone yet. Except the requirement to wear face coverings will remain for public transport, SHOPS and accessing health care in Wales after Aug 7th.

Just seen today, two chippies in Barmouth closed due to covid. Local Doctors surgery has sign-|
"TO HOLIDAYMAKERS" If you are feeling unwell contact your own medical practice, do not enter. If you think you have Covid symptoms do not enter phone 111 for advise. So going on holidays may still be fraught with problems. Check the different rules for WALES announced today.0 -
Yes although we haven't done much, all risk assessed before, the Royal we 😉, have been happy to mix a bit more than we had been because of masks etc being worn. Not always correctly and if I might make a sweeping statement incorrect mask wearing, ie nose uncovered has mainly been an older male thing! But there have been older women occasionally.
Example whilst I waiting in the car showroom/service area today. Staff only not wearing masks unless in people's vehicles or close, by today's standards,, conversations. All women and all men with one exception properly masked. The exception finished his conversation and made his way to the exit, with his female companion on crutches, yanking his mask down to under his chin before reaching the door and opening that with hand that had touched the outside of his mask 😷. I certainly wouldn't make any conversation about it with him as I felt intimidated anyway, from a considerable distance.
Listening to the female head of London Transport Police on woman's hour when asked about such situations, she suggested striking up a conversation with the person if you felt comfortable doing so. When challenged by Emna Barnett - presenter for wording etc, nothing helpful. When Emma Barnett brought up she had had instances, as had her friends, with porn being watched they had got out of the carriage so as to feel less intimidated. She said she did once ask a man would he mind er um etc, as she said in the typical British fashion, because she didn't know how to word her request, this from a very well educated woman not frightened to hold folk to account in her job! She too left the carriage at the next stop. This latter matter being brought up because the transport police want everyone to report inappropriate looking, leering or touching whether you're the victim or not, the original reason for the article. An interesting listen radio4 Tuesday 13th.
BoJo's new freedom for all will certainly curtail us, but once again we'll risk assess for ourselves because I fear the selfish ones don't give a fig. Sadly I fear we won't be long before being confined again, if he dares and folk cooperate. We are soooo close to 🤞the finishing post with jabs etc it seems total madness but I'm not qualified to comment on the science 🤐
Edit, breaking news just flashed up as I posted, Mallorca etc amber list from Monday. Why not instantly????
Fisherman, our GP surgery has a sign on the door and the recorded telephone message before you can even begin to queue to talk to someone, tells you not to enter if you suspect you have COVID, as does our pharmacy. The only new bit to me on your GP sign is about holiday makers contacting their own medical centre.

I think that the answer to my final question -"Will there be conflict between maskers and non-maskers?"- is Yes. In our household Catherine is a 'sceptic' and I'm a 'stoic'. We have some heated discussions on what's yet to come. I believe in ploughing on and sorting it all out as we go. I'll only be wearing a mask when I think it's appropriate, so please respect my right to choose.

I see in the press that consideration is being given to placing France on the "red" list. Case rate 46 in 100K. Our case rate 270 in 100K and rising. Following the science. Yeah, right!

I'm afraid if those covid aware members expect every other member to be responsible for their own personal hygiene/safety precautions when on site & using the showers/toilets , you will be taking extreme risks with you own health.
Covid idiots have been roving the club sites since they first opened, nothing will change after 19 July no matter how the club trys to advise us of the still constant risk of infection spreading.
We are staying well clear of club sites & only using cls & C&CC cs sites.
I posted earlier this year of the total disregard of many members using the precautions laid out by the wardens at the Carsington waters site when using the toilet facilities , many members didn't give a flying fig about using the wrist band control method... for their own safety... never mind others.

So ..... playing Devil's advocate .... what about ME? How do I know you're not carrying it and are a danger to me?
I do agree with you though, there has to be a time when (to quote Spock🙄 ) 'The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few'
