Too many wardens
Over the years I've met many really great wardens and also some who have behaved more like warders in a prison camp but I also appreciate that our wardens have a lot to put up with.
But the question I really want to ask is a serious one about how much the cost of employing so many wardens contributes to pushing up the cost of staying on our sites.
The C&CC seems to operate perfectly happily with fewer staff on their sites. But C&CC wardens don't spend so much time trying to maintain their sites in a pristine, manicured condition as though it was a five-star golf resort.
A couple of years ago at a club site in the Scottish Highlands I watched one of the large team of wardens spend a lot of time strimming all the grass edges at pitches, roadways and the visitors' car park into neat staight lines. Not content with that the warden then came back with a garden vacuum cleaner and proceeded to hoover up not only the grass clippings but also every last stone chip from the car park. On our arrival at the same site it was necessary for me to put one front wheel of the car onto the grass in order to reverse the van on to our pitch. OMG!!! you'd think I had just committed the crime of the century. In my opinion, if our wardens have enough time to carry on like that then we are employing too many wardens on some sites.
Would it not be better to forget about manicuring our sites to ridiculous standards, employ fewer wardens and thereby reduce the price of each site night?

Spent 11 nights altogether at this site in June, just passed and as usual enjoyed our stay in lovely weather. Only one big problem - there is still just ONE cold water tap to service the sixteen units that are there nearly every night and the water pressure is abysmal to say the least. One fellow traveller remarked to me that you easily set your aqua roll up for filling and go to your caravan for a cup of coffee while it was filling! But really it is quite ridiculous, especially now when there are so many motorhomes there most nights and it just takes ages to get their tanks filled up.
I understood that extra facilities were to be added to cope with the motorhomes but if course this has not been done. Why not?
We stay at this site because we have close family members living in the area and have been doing so for quite a few years. The nightly charge is not cheap in view of the facilities provided, or lack of them, especially the ridiculous situation regarding the most basic need - a satisfactory water supply.
I trust that problem will be remedied without any further delay. I hope that any other members who use this site will make their thoughts known here too!

What site are we talking about?
Have I missed something? All I can see is a nine year old thread with no site name and one reply also with no site name
Has this been posted in a site review and got here by some gremlin in CT?
Moderator Comment - Just to say I have locked this old thread. I expect CS is right that it's meant to be a review but whether the poster will return to see this comment, who knows?
