Swift Roof split
My 2018 Swift Conqueror has sprung a leak! Yesterday's downpour ended up with a very wet top on the front chest of drawers. Investigating today I can see a split about 14 inches long about midway in the black stuff - in parts it's wide enough to insert a £1 coin. Has anyone had a similar problem and have any tips on how to get it fixed (under warranty I hope) with as little delay as possible? I shall be speaking to the dealership in the morning.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this thread, Pippah, but the problem sounds not too dissimilar. Good luck.

Brilliant thank you Tinny - that looks almost identical to my split! Nice to know it's an easy repair once they get the part! I guess I shall be asking for a taped repair to carry on camping until they can fix it properly!
I wouldn't be accepting a repaired caravan if mine was as new as that thread. But each to his own. I did once get a new engine put in a car I was buying because they told me the oil warning light had come on when they were taking it to have the sunshine roof fitted. They assured me it was fine and they had stopped driving but I wouldn't accept it! I think I am the only person I know who was happy with their Austin Allegro! It served me very well!

It sounds as if there might be a long wait for the roof panel, Pippah, but hopefully taping it will keep the weather at bay.
The OP of the other thread did eventually reject the van after the fridge proved faulty. Me, I'd have walked away with a refund when the fiasco started.
Yep, they weren't known as All Aggros for nothing😁. That must have been around 40 years ago!

Someone in the Swift group thinks I may need a whole new front panel!
I don't think I had any aggro from the Allegra and it was in the late 80s. I don't remember a single break down or trouble and did around 100K miles too. It was the larger of the two engines that were on offer I remember that.

My son suggested bathroom sealant - not sure if this would work? It is taped up for now and looks a mess! I do have some of that see-through sticky stuff used to protect carpets etc. I may try redoing it with that for a better looking fix! or at least get some black tape instead or silver! I am not usually worried about the looks of things but it does look horrible! Probably because it is someone else's fault and not mine!

I would use Gorilla clear tape which is waterproof. Bathroom sealant will look awful and still allow the panel to split further.
The All Aggro had at least 4 engine size options over its production life, namely 1100, 1300, 1500 and 1750….. it may even have had a 1.0litre option in some markets. Another BL product design disaster from the jaws of success.

Thanks Flatcoat - my repair didn't work yesterday and water came in again during the night. The dealership suggested I came in this morning and let them fix it. They used a generous amount of black stuff from a gun and so far all is dry inside. I suppose it was more fun than the morning of housework I had in mind! Of course they hadn't seen anything so extreme and bird strike was mentioned again but hopefully the claim will go through and I will eventually get a new panoramic panel!
