Reclining chairs
Hi
I would like to update our chairs which we use at the table in the awning, to ones which we can recline in whilst relaxing. Therefore they need to be capable of being upright and the right height for siting at the table. Any advice and recommendations ?? many thanks

We tried to achieve the same dual purpose. Additionally, we wanted them to be light and compact enough to go in the car boot, We bought the Isabella recliners, We are completely satisfied with the comfort and adjustability, but they are a bit heavier than some competitors. Previously we had the Lafuma recliners (not so well made and rather fragile),

Another vote here for the Isabella recliners. I also bought the foot / leg rest which clips on to the chair.

Isabella recliners are very good and well made compared to most - worth paying a bit more for.

cant even remember the brand but we got some nearly 10 yrs ago and still going strong...
the thing to remember is not to get those where the feet go up as you lean back, they dont work well as dining chairs.
as above, we have seperate matching footrests which are great for sunny, lazy days and we also got clip on side trays which hold even the most substantial G&T!

We have a couple of La Fuma chairs which might fit the bill. It depends on how far you want them to recline. These are not the heavy variety with the strung seating but a more standard alloy version weighing about 3.5 kilos each.

We are currently looking at updating our Crespo chairs and will almost certainly go for the same.
Expensive but top quality and able to be used for dining and relaxing and very comfortable.

Another vote for Lafuma. If you lie back you’ll see why! Incredibly comfy and sturdy, lighter than equivalent Isabella (7.8kg as opposed to 10kg) and easy to clean. They were not cheap at £180 each but worth every penny and at 7 years old have no signs of wear. In the upright sitting position, however, we preferred a lower table than the standard caravan table when eating.

Back in 2007 I was advised to but Dukdalf Paso Doble chairs. They were expensive, noticeably more than Lafuma etc. 14 years on I do not regret it, They are excellent.

We used to have La Fuma chairs, heavier style full recliners. They became too bulky for our present motorhome so have been relegated to garden use only. Not long ago we bought a pair of semi reclining chairs (foot stools can be purchased separately) in the Isabella Thor design. They're very comfortable, sturdy but not heavy. Have been pleased with this purchase. Check out special offers.
Our chairs fit in our fiamma box so that has been good too, they fold up neatly and without too much bulk.

Hubby is 6'4 and has a large one, and I'm 5'4 so have the a small one.
They are very sturdy, the medium height may be suitable for use at the table
We are very pleased with them

“Hubby is 6'4 and has a large one”
Way too much info!!

The LaFuma chairs we have are slightly wider than standard. https://www.lafuma-furniture.co.uk/camping-armchair-alu-cham-xl-batyline-iso-ocean.html

Hi Sian, It did!
Slips of the tongue can be amusing as we witnessed whilst having a meal at the Hubbox on Pentewan Sands last Friday.
They have a chicken burger that's called a Mother Clucker-I will let you guess what a, soon very red faced, diner asked for!!

One thing I discovered is the scarcity of reclining chairs - most online supplier we’re out of stock of various choices. In the end we managed to pick up some Outwell Cromer chairs from Outdoor World Direct. Fairly cost effective and decent enough chairs, albeit not the lightest.
