Hi we are booked for the Crystal Palace site and have a 2016 RIMOR Katamarano. It presently is plated at 3.5 tonnes, But we are looking up plating it, it has the eco2 Renault engine so meets emission standards

I can’t work out If the upgrade will have an impact on emission zone charges.

Can anyone advise If the charges apply in the above case to accessing the Crystal Palace site and if the update to the plated weight makes a difference?

Thanks in advance

The London ULEZ website is not particularly clear so I can see the confusion. You may be OK if you meet the Euro 6 requirement which you do. Perhaps best to ask the question direct by following this link?

It is easy to access the Crystal Palace site without entering the restricted zone if you use the North and South Circular roads but not go within them.

The OP mentioned the LEZ, this goes a lot further out than the north and south circular. I believe the ULEZ will expand to those roads, but not include them in October 2021.

You are correct Steve but the restrictions in the wider LEZ zone are primarily for commercial vehicles and only apply to motor homes if they are more than 20 years old.

Does weight come into it? We are considering upgrading our plate to over 3.5 tonnes (for the payload) currently (having checked the TFL checker) we will not be charged, but if I increase the plated weight - will that change things?

(The site states it is within the LEZ)
