Toilet Fluid

Does anyone know what has happened to OneChem toilet fluid. I have used it for several years after discovering it in a caravan & camping shop and for me it ticks all the boxes but best of all it is so easy and mess free to dispense into the tank. It still seems to be available on Amazon but it is not in any shops. I tried to buy a new supply the other day from their own website shop and couldn't pay so tried emailing to enquire but that was returned by MS; tried phoning the contact number and that is not recognised. Have they gone bust?

Could it be held up amongst containers and imports??

I went into town today, first in a long time where I haven't grabbed my bits and run, and was surprised by the lack of stock in Wilko's of items made in the Far East. I was on the lookout for a laundry basket, our puppy - now dog, was involved it the demise of ours - still use able but.... No joy. I also wanted a multi-pegout hanger for my DIL for baby bits got one a few weeks ago, should have bought more, not one of any description whereas 3 or 4 weeks I ago I had a choice!

Have you tried biological washing machine pods in the toilet cassette? Buy the cheapest, Aldi,  Lidl or similar. No waste and a great job. Lots on this form agree.

Apparently there’s still a backlog of shipping after the Suez Canal jam. Added to that, an outbreak of covid has brought a major Chinese port to a near standstill. The result is gaps on shelves in the shops.

That is so but does that account for the email and telephone being out of action as if they are no more.

I can’t help you there but a useful place to start might be an internet search for the company registration details and current company status.

Seems to be plenty available on EBay. Does it matter where it comes from providing you get what you want?

Not 100% sure about this, but I think OneChem - there appears to be a lot of products other than the toilet fluid - is made by Assured Products Limited. Their web site (which has very little information) doesn't mention the toilet fluid, but it does show OneChem Sanitiser and the container has the same logo as the toilet fluid - which is the only reason I make the connection so it might not be correct. Someone else could have copied the logo - it happens! Frankly, it is a bit mysterious. Not the best company in the world for promoting their wares or themselves by the look of it.

Assured Products Limited are registered in Ashtead in Surrey; the company appears to be trading. The label on the Sanitiser states that it is made in Wigan. The One-Chem toilet fluid clearly states "made in the UK" on the label so I don't think the possible import delays are relevant.

There was also a company called One Chem Products Limited which was dissolved in 2017 and appears never to have traded. It is not clear if this was connected in any way.

All rather odd. If I really wanted it, I would just buy from Amazon. They appear to have plenty and it is on Prime.

I would never have thought of using bio washing pods. Is it just one pod at a time and what do you put in the flushing tank? Are they as effective at keeping the stink down as toilet fluid is - most of the time

We have tried bio wash pods from both Aldi and Lidl but overtime both have failed to keep the smell down and we returned to blue with the highest proportion of Formaldehyde available.

Its a question of nice fragrance or fresh washing smell for MOH - I don't get a say in the matter.

Nice and effective as opposed to economical and effective.

I'm surprised that you can still get ANY toilet chemical  containing Formaldehyde in these ecological days, LLM undecided

Elsan Blu02 and the Aldi version have it but sadly over time the quantity has been reduced. There may be others about.
