Might be an idea to include said thoughts in a review as I imagine wardens are more likely to see reviews than look at the forum?

Hi
Not many staff look at reviews or indeed this forum. Best to email enquiries @camc.com with the title "compliment site name". This then goes to the right dept. and is also passed onto the site.

That is disappointing to hear as it would suggest many contributors are wasting their time when they praise the site staff? I am surprised its not part of the Job Description to be aware of site reviews?

I don't think it suggests that at all DK. Believe it or not, there are many who don't look at any social media. Sometimes with all the negativity around I don't blame them. Along with our pretty strict social media policy which prevents reaction, how would you put that into a job description?

Having seen a review earlier today which contained a lengthy rant about a warden, I wouldn’t blame any staff who swerved reviews and the forum. It would be soul destroying to read stuff like that without the right of response.
If the club was serious about their duty of care to staff, they’d moderate reviews before they appeared on the web. Reviews may be checked later, although it seems hit and miss, but to gag staff while allowing instant appearance of some of the comments I’ve seen over the years is grossly unfair.

Wasn't there a rule that complaints about wardens shouldn't be in a review but sent in as a complaint?
The idea was that firstly the issue would be addressed and the warden(s) held to account if required but also wardens have no right of reply to any alleged issue regarding them given in the review.

It’s in the guidelines for writing reviews which, clearly, few people read.
I've just seen another rant about a warden and I’m sure a conversation with him would have enhanced the writer's understanding as he/she seems not to understand or have considered anything other than their own point of view. Another example of why unmoderated reviews should never appear.

Firstly before we get this out of proportion. There are many members who want to thank the wardens for the way they run the site just as a way of everyday thanks. If they were required to email the Club every time I suspect many wouldn't bother. Also unless the thanks were particular specific they wouldn't hold much value in terms of the time the Club spend of replying and passing on. However having gone to the trouble of praising the wardens in a review I suspect they would be a little disappointed if no one bothered to read them? I completely get the point about negative comments about wardens in reviews and I am often hide such negative reviews but it is impossible to spend the time required looking at all reviews, every day, In an ideal world reviews would be moderated before they published but given the volume I imagine this is not possible. A halfway house would be for all stories and reviews to be treated the same way as first posts on the forum as many of the offending reviews are from first posters. We also have a problem with people posting in the wrong place, hence the suggestion the OP include his comments in a review as its hardly a discussion topic. As a moderator I can't move posts into reviews so I rely of people seeing my suggestion and taking action.

Don’t forget there are also Comments Books on sites where people can praise, or otherwise, the wardens and I understand reading of them is part of the wardens' jobs.
Incidentally, Corners and TW once shared completion of a report of good service on a site even though their stays were days apart.

Well , I’ve never read or commented in the book , why should I praise someone for doing their job ?, I arrive at reception book in and pay my money and that ends my involvement with the warden , no one forces them to do the job , I’ve just shopped in Sainsbury’s,but I’m not going to go on their website to say how good the cashier was !, sometimes people have a bad day at work , it happens and no need to run to social media

That's a very sad comment (IMHO) HD.
Obviously you never had any pet owning customers happy enough to praise you for "just doing your job". But then shopkeeping and site management involving hundreds of guests passing through weekly can hardly be compared I suppose.

Yes, also whether they work for you or not giving praise makes people feel better and will lead to do their job better I've always found.

To you it might be , but I’m not afraid to say what I think . You need updating ,I sold my shop nearly two years ago , and we had about 600 customers a week , they would come to buy things and I served them ,why do I need praise , may be I have thicker skin

I think it says a lot about the type of person the OP is. He has made the effort to post of his appreciation and it indicates a kind soul. Well done, CM👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Totally up to you, have I said otherwise? - I did say I've always found so your choice.
But perhaps (IMHO) saying hello and thank you sometimes over the year may make them be a little tidier if they drop anything or more careful with anything of yours as they pass by it. Either way there is nothing to be lost by making anyone feel valued is there?
I've found it has always paid dividends but it's just what I've found just in my experience.

A big +1 there.

Well I must admit to falling somewhere between the 2 sets on reviews.
I find the constant requests for instant reviews that one received nowadays on an all too regular basis to be OTT. DPD deliver a parcel, it's their job, yet within 5 minutes of them doing their job I get an email asking "How did we do?"
Had a problem with Sky the other week. Emailed them. They got back but we were out. Had an email that night "How did we do?". And so it goes on.
I have no problems leaving unsolicited reviews for campsites or CLs but unless I feel it's pertinent for fellow members on a forum to specifically know about that site I'll leave it at that, in the review section where it belongs.
