Morvich to Kinlochewe route
We are currently enjoying a great stay at Morvich MHCC site and intend to move onto Kinlochewe MHCC site soon. Can anyone advise best route for towing a caravan as just a bit nervous of roads that might be unsuitable for towing. Shortest route seems to be via A890 but is this a no no?
your opinions will be greatly received. Thank you

Check your map for the best A road. You will be able to see any single track sections and gradient markers.

We have not used that road for quite a while, but I do not remember having any problems, with caravan, 15-20 years back, it is an A road and will be used by HGVs and buses.. No doubt there will have been a few improvements over the last 15 years.
Any single track bits will not be that narrow, and there will be plenty of passing places, just take it easy and look well ahead. You could always "drive it" on Google Earth

Joanne, we've done that route without any problems....A87 west towards Kyle, at Auchertyre take the A890, which is a bit steep in places, especially the descent to Achintee but easily doable. After Strathcarron it is single track in places but has lots of passing places. Turn West at Achnasheen on the A832 for 10 mls, and this is a good wide road, with great views. Enjoy your trip.

Hi
I've just read your reply to the question about the road from morvich to kinlochewe, I'm booked in at morvich before going to kinlochewe and I'm also a bit concerned about the single track parts of the road as I have a long outfit, if you could advise. Thanks

As already posted above, you should have no problems on that road. Always remembering that they are not three lane or even dual carriageways, and as such, need nothing more than a wise and steady head behind the wheel. After all its a holiday for most folks up there, so 60--70 mph is unwise, even in a Range Rover or equivalent. Take care and you'll be back time & again, I assure you !
