We have a Autotrail Tracker EKS and are travelling from Dumfries to Inverness. Has anyone done this journey via A939 and would you recommend this route for a motorhome?

Other motor homes certainly go that way and bigger vehicles than yours too, but choose a fine day as that road goes high with many twists and turns - on a misty  day you will be groping your way, but on a fine day it’s very scenic. There’s video on You tube to show you what it’s like. But going that way from Dumfries to Inverness is a long trek for a single day if that’s what you have in mind.

I presume you  mean you are crossing over from Ballater via Tomintoul, we've done the route in our smaller motorhome, you'll need to take care in places but some parts of the road have been widened, years ago the route took in Tomintoul but now skirts round it. Not a safe winter route but certainly a route for spotting wild life etc. and more remote than some.

I doubt if your motor caravan will be larger than the coach I used to drive over that road.

Drove down it a couple of weeks ago in my A Class. Nice scenic route, if a little more demanding for the driver than the A9.
