Visitors to sites
Perhps JK knows the answer? Will visitors be allowed on site from opening on the 12th or will the same rules as last year apply? I would have thought as you can meet families outside there would be no need to apply the rule this time round?

It may change when the tolet faciliteis are opened but even then as last year ,it was to help keep the chances of cross infection down by keeping sites to those staying on site only as is said in the road out please only meet others outside, and would hope to mean outside of the site as well

As far as I understand, the 'no visitors' rule last year was to do with track & trace. The club have contact details for everyone staying on site, but couldn't possibly expect the site wardens to keep track of everyone's visitors! We have no problem with meeting family or friends off site again this year.

That's correct, LR, because wardens cannot keep track of visitors and they often arrive without even letting the wardens know.

Thanks TW. That was my understanding, so I'm not quite sure why anyone would expect things to change any time soon! But even if every visitor to a site had the courtesy to announce their arrival, would the wardens be expected to be on duty and in reception to take visitor's contact details all day? I don't think so .....

If the visitors have the NHS App, it is just a matter of scanning the QR code on display. No matter, if the rule is still in force it will still be easy enough to entertain visitors by taking the motorhome off site as long as a parking spot can be found.

As I understand it the requirement for 'logging in' now extends to all persons-not just one member of the group?
There are clear reasons why it may be useful to know who has been where but also many examples of premises where large numbers of people visit and there is no record whatsoever-like supermarkets and public access camp sites.

And if the don't have a smartphone or the NHS app they simply give their name and contact details.

HMG .Gov website, updated today, says;
"Venues in hospitality, the tourism and leisure industry, close contact services, community centres and village halls must:
ask every customer or visitor (over the age of 16) to provide their name and contact details................."

Obviously JVB, but my visitors are all of a younger generation and they all have smart phones and Apps as do I. I wonder if commercial sites are adopting the same policy, last year one I stayed on hadn't. I was thinking of swapping my booking but the C8CC are also saying no visitors because I checked that this morning.

I think the no visitor rule is sensible. We've heard from our warden friend how visitors can be on site without having reported to reception and it makes the situation uncontrollable.
The presence of QR codes or signing in books becomes pointless if visitors ignore them and just wander in and we all know wardens cannot be vigilant at all times. Not allowing visitors is all part of the staying safe regime.

"Interesting as the only person,,i have spoken to who has both a smart ?phone ad the NHS app is our grandaughter and her boyfriend"
You need to get out more JVB
Maybe this would help

"Everyone in England to be offered twice-weekly Covid tests, PM to say "
so visitors have to produce a negative test result ???
but after talking to my Gkids yesterday i am not sure just how seriously testing is being taken , they are supposed to be doing a self test twice weekly, but they say dipping tester into Coca Cola gives a positive result although this is refuted on social media, i think my Gkids may have tested this

Unless the wardens monitored the administration how would you prove the negative result was yours. They seem to rely on personal honesty. Most would not turn up if they had tested positive, but a few might.☹️

Some of those being visited don't even ensure their visitors report to reception on arrival 😖

I tried to go to Incelborough site yesterday and was refused entry in my car. I explained I just wanted to drive around the site and have a look as we were thinking of booking,we were staying on a site close. The sign says no visitors was the curt reply.
Perhaps I should have walked on as there was no one checking. Seems outdated advice given restrictions have been eased. You can go to the pub, theater, swimming, but its not safe to stay in your car, drive around a club site of which I am a member, and have a look .
I wont be going now, thats for sure

In the past I have often asked to look round a site, never been refused but have always been asked to walk around rather than drive for safety reasons and extra traffic, fair enough.
I think at the moment the rule is no visitors due and that is due to covid. After all one doesn't need to be there.

Right now we would have loved to have seen our family on site (any site, not just CAMC) but we're in the NE where surge testing is happening. It's a nice sunny day and we could all have been outside but it won't be happening yet. It will be lovely when things start to improve, I hope the no visitor rule can soon be dropped.

Do you still have to fill in a track and trace form? hence the reason of the blanket no visitors to sites as how many would advise that they have visitors ,the site we have been on very few were even using the bands for the facilities and as pointed out by others on site what chance have HMG and most of us got when some cant even follow simple instructions for the toilets

No dispute involved pd. Unless you're a paying guest staying on site, you're a visitor. The brief on our club sites (irrespective what the rest of the country is doing) is currently no visitors, so no coming in for a look around (probably just to use the toilets), no popping in to see friends or family. Personally I'll be glad when all this is done with. I've better things to do with my day rather than challenge strangers to my site.

People still try to 'sneak in' to visit. One family tried it at Wharfedale last week but were stopped in their tracks by the very vigilant site staff who pointed to the very large sign at the entrance and asked them to leave. Track and trace forms are still being handed out for completion.
