Hi the flood defence work has started at the York, Rowntree Park site which means the usual route to the site is changed. Read the club revised route on line it is very clear and having walked it this morning access is very good.

Terry avenue has been modified with passing places but also speed bumps!
a speed limit of 20 mph is signed, too fast for me really but the speed bumps slow things down. All site traffic leaving the site now has to turn right, following Terry avenue past the park and down to the Millennium bridge where you follow the newly made road across the park and out up Butcher road and up to Bishopthorpe road.
The access via the back pedestrian gate has been opened up to people staying at the hotel next door Roomzzzzz and apparently will be locked at 10 pm, don’t know how this will work

Basically the route is very good no worries on road width or general access.

That should be of interest as the reason the pedestrian gate was locked at the back of the site ,was because of trespass by the local hero's and as a shortcut through the site by localsundecided

We walked the road on Terry Avenue last week and it seemed very narrow in parts with very tight access through a gated section which had an additional post set in the road limiting width, has this post been removed? Also access through the pedestrian gates to the hotel seems very odd and if acceptable then why was this means of ingress not modified for Club Members?

They have put traffic light control in place this morning at the millennium bridge corner, can’t see any issues just take time and caution, the speed limit is 10 mph don’t know wether they changed it from what I thought was 20, probably me getting it wrong.

Glad to see a traffic light system in place ( must have been Boris's idea) We asked if they would do that but no info at the time.
