Funniest thing seen on a Club Site?
What’s the funniest thing you have ever seen while on a Club Site? (Be nice, hopefully no one got hurt)
Ours is watching someone else painstakingly removing rabbit droppings from around the van every morning, then watching the bunnies come out again each evening......and repeat. Brush and dustpan, rubber gloves.....🤣 Marazion.

We arrived at Braemar, must have been 2006 and the office was empty, after a while one of the wardens came back saying they were just escorting a deer out of the site and yes this beautiful tall deer walked out through the approach road. happened again during our stay and one morning there was a deer in the playground.
Also during that same stay there was a caravan that had two tortoises in a gage, The owners would let them out and they (not the owners) would make a 'mad dash' across the hardstanding reaching the grass at which point they would be retrieved and brought back to their starting point.

There used to be a tortoise occasionally on our Cornish CL. We got to know it’s owners quite well, as we saw them every year. You did have to be careful driving in, it did escape occasionally. Our Airedales found it in awning one morning, licked but no damage done😁

Blimey, not sure where to start, 11 years with the club I've seen an awful lot of funny things. I'll have a think of the best

We were with some warden friends in thejr awning at Clumber Park, at about 2100 when ,a voice was heard , calling for the warden,
When he went to see what the problem was ,the member asked if he knew how to work motor,caravan toilets , our friend asked him what type was it? the answer came" its this one,"and he had carried a full porta poti toilet to the wardens to show him how to empty it

OK this wasn’t on a Club site but seen on an overnight stop on a Municipal in France.
A visitor from another nearby country (not sure if I should say which) parked up his caravan and then proceeded to unwind a water hose from a nearby tap to fill the tank in the van. Unfortunately his hose was about a metre short and so he turned the tap on high and “aimed” the jet at the hole in the side of his van. Might have worked but for the strong wind/gale blowing at the time. It took him at least 15 minutes to fill to his satisfaction but he did have a cleaner van side panel when he had finished!
Not surprisingly he actions did draw a bit of an audience.

Seen many years ago when charcoal BBQs were more prevalent and before Cadacs.
I must have been the first time with a BBQ (and possibly the last) and the chef lit the fire and watched the flames die down as they do. Sadly he appeared unaware that this was normal and so, every time the flames died down, he dowsed the BBQ with more lighter fuel (I know it’s dangerous). He must have done this a good half dozen times whilst cooking his chicken and sausage in the flames.
Someone did go over to him but walked away shaking his head so I suspect the advice went unheeded.

At Seacroft a few years ago I saw this man tie his dog to a picnic table , out of nowhere this cat appeared . Said dog went off like Usain Bolt , table flying everywhere , cat did a hard right so did dog . In the process the owner of the dog was taken clean out by table 😀. Have to be honest I had tears rolling down my face through laughter , fortunately only the owners pride was dented.😀😀.

That takes me back🤣 We had part of our Honeymoon in the mid 1980’s in our tiny camper van. Having done the washing before we left a Site, we rolled into Killin Site, put up a tiny wash line from car window to dog tether. Yep, bunny rabbit hopped by, and off went our Rottweiler complete with tether and attached underwear, circus completed by said owners in hot pursuit of dog and undies🤣🤣🤣 No damage done to bunny, dog or undies.

Not a Club site, but many years ago, on a well known commercial site (recently on TV) a caravan moving pitches with the awning still attached, four people walking along side carrying it. Also, same site, same time, a gazebo loose in strong winds, " walking" over a caravan.

Done that as well😂 Neighbour on CL wanted to change pitch, so we all rallied round and off van and awning went. It wasn’t windy though thank goodness.
AD, that’s gross. Poor dog, ok a bit of help if it’s the occasional claggy on the waggy, but not everytime. Long haired dogs need a careful trim.....😂

Saw a chap struggling putting his awning up,I knew he was struggling because we had said good morning to him as he was just getting the awning out and when we returned in the late afternoon it still wasn’t up,I asked him what the problem was and he said ,I have lost a pole somewhere, so we search everything in his caravan etc and couldn’t find it then I realised what had happened, he had used the pole he was missing as an extension to his tv ariel.

Funny thing we have seen is when a family arrived on site with a fairly well used new to them van. Didn't bother to level it so it was well on the slew side to side. Got out the awning, threaded it through the channel. pegged it all down then hung the curtains up on the outside, yes they had put it up inside out. They stood back admiring their handiwork and the rest of the site was in hysterics, it seems they had just been and bought this van that day and they were off to Italy the next week end.

Second funniest thing was on a site in Devon. A couple turn up on a Saturday afternoon and put up full awning, wind breaks, pup tent. Then he proceeds to unload a load of bricks. Another hour later he has built a full size bbq with all these bricks. He lit it cooked some food and then the next day packed everything away they only stayed one night lol.

Definitely. There were new van owners galore at Hexham Racecourse when we stopped last year. All doing ok though, taking their time, figuring things out.
