New 1.6 Diesel Honda CRV...good idea?
Hi All
I’m looking for advice on anyone who owns a 2016 Honda CRV EX 1.6 Diesel, I currently have an older CRV 2.2 Diesel which I use to tow My Bailey Pageant 7 and I’m wondering whether swopping to the 1.6 is a good idea or not….many thanks
Regards
Andy

Hi,
Last October we traded the Honda CRV 1.6 Diesel EX with the 9 speed auto diesel and 4 wheel drive and this was an excellent tow vehicle for our Bailey Pegasus 514.
illegal speed on motorways were easily maintained and the caravan never moved
the reversing camera was spot on for alignment (unlike the Land Rover Sport which is about 150mm out)
The flappy paddles on the steering wheels were excellent for 'holding' a gear if you where climbing a steep hill.
We now own a Honda CRV EX 1.5 petrol, CVT gearbox and providing you ignore the fuel consumption it is even better. it certainly tows well, and my wife loves the heated steering wheel!!! haven't had any snow this winter to test it, but it handles mud with ease

Should have added - previous to the 1.6 diesel CRV, we had the manual 2.2 CDTI
so which is best - the 1.6 diesel for fuel consumption, but my wife loves
the 1.5 petrol for all its toys - head up display, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, the list goes on
