Battery charger delay?

In recent weeks the charger in my 2009 Lunar Lexon SI has being playing up. When the 12v system is first  switched on,  its taking around 3-4 minutes for charging to commence. I've confirmed this using  a multi meter on the battery, at first it  just shows  the battery voltage at around 12.7v then jumps to 14.1v after a couple of minutes once the charger kicks in. If I do the same test with the  battery removed it records 0 volts at first then a normal charging voltage when "warmed up" Any ideas? Could the "kettle" plug on the charger unit be loose (I haven't had the cover off the ECU yet) or is the charger in its way out?

If a new charger is required can anyone recommend a supplier?

Sorted,, not easy as had to virtually dismantle the front seat to gain full access to the EMU, (Lunar in its wisdom had built it around the control panel) once the EMU front panel was removed the culprit was immediately found,,as suspected the kettle plug had worked loose and the  slightest vibration affected it's contacts👍
