Facebook group is reporting that someone has been attempting to use the showers at Broadway, damage caused to door locks.

There's always one that rules / measures don't apply to. I think that situation has been suitably dealt with. (mildly put to keep with community guidelines)

Were they on site people? as there are no security locks on either of the facilitiesundecided

The showers here are not locked but all the water is off and the shower hoses and heads have been removedcool

We stopped overnight at our first CL and there was just ourselves, in a caravan, and 1M/H which came in the evening. Both the last CL and the present one was/is full with there being only one M/H on at any one time. None of the 3 have a toilet/shower.

Apparently the member turned on or attempted to turn on the water.

A very apt descriptive term there, Mikey😀

I think it depends on the site, for example how good is transport from it? I would think town sites would have more MHs?

That is probably true but the fact remains the popularity of motorhomes is growing. Not very scientific I know, but on my trip away last weekend, to pass the time, I counted the numbers of caravans and motorhomes going in the opposite direction in the first  section of the journey. 44 percent were motorhomes. After a stop for lunch and fuel I didn't bother after that.

It looked like quite a few had been away for the week or weekend. However, when  I got to site there were plenty of empty pitches and it has remained so but the coming weekend is looking busier.

+1, another most unscientific observation-I live on the East coast of Yorkshire with all the stopover sites for LV’ers. Historically I’ve seen a 3 to 1 ratio in favour of C/vans, last few years it’s been relatively even, this spring it’s been more Moho’s than C/vans. On the upside they’ve been the manageable sized variety not Behemoths👍🏻. We do have some very winding roads/lanes here.

There are a few hardstanding pitches empty here (Wednesdsy) at Grafham Water, but the site looks pretty full.  However, I think the grass pitches are empty.  Lovely quiet site.... apart from the resident owl, who seems to have quite a reputation.  We spoke to a National Trust lady at Houghton Mill who asked us if the owl was still there.... and then some friends of ours said they had stayed at Grafham in the past also asked about 'the owl' 😃😃

Seems a bit cooler here this morning, but the sun is trying to push through....

    Did the “Glorious 12th” materialise?

Yes it did for us... 4 nights at High Onn then 5 on a C&CC site. Both do not have toilet blocks so no real difference to the lifting of the rules. Would like the club to open more Non Toilet block sites as they are always quieter sites.

We’re at the Club’s Norfolk Broads site, arrived yesterday. I haven’t been round with my clipboard, but the site seems to be pretty full.

We stopped off for a couple of nights at Clumber Park on the way down, also pretty full.

Great to get away at last, and have a welcome change in scenery 🙂

In the bits of Cornwall I’ve seen.....a definite no. By all accounts CC sites are fairly busy, but many independents are quiet, some still closed. M5 was busy for a while on the weekend but quickly dissipated. That may change today, but with kids still at school and restrictions on facilities, unlikely.

Silly season has definitely started tho’, first stuck vehicle of the season in the village this week, thankfully not a MH but only a question of time!

I saw arrivals queuing at Godrevy Park site at 12.20 yesterday. Well, the website says 12.00 arrivals. Couldn't really see how full the site was but nearby commercial sites were fairly full.

There were plenty of visitors at Gwithian and Godrevy car parks and, sadly, many were behaving in ways which won't endear them to others.

Heaven help anyone travelling to or from SW today☹️ The M5 is closed both directions, between junctions 13 and 14. Three HGV pile up, two still on fire. Road is expected to stay closed for rest of the day. So it’s a crawl down the A38 for holiday traffic.

We saw caravans queuing outside Ferry Meadows yesterday at noon. Warden on gate checking folks in, it was moving fast luckily.

It did feel good to get on a site, short journey to Trewethett Farm in my case for a sunny post lockdown shakedown. Just as well I did as Truma Combi packed up on first night, so cold shower in the absence of nice warm club facilities! Next challenge, find a service engineer with any available slots before August!
