Wifi vs Mifi Boosters
WiFi vs MiFi Booster?
The site we are on has Wifi, but the signal strength is very hit and miss. Plus it’s not a secure network. And at peak usage times you have dip in speeds.
We have a Huawei E5783B Dongle 4G with Three which we purchased for touring, but use on site. But the signal coverage for the area is poor at present and Three show only 3G coverage.
What are the options for both boosting either the on site WiFi signal strength , and likewise for boosting the Mifi signal strength?
Any links for reviews, makes and models of devices used to boost signal strength please? We are locked into a contact on the Mifi for the next 18 months.
Cheers

My personal feeling is to go for 4G rather then wifi as it's more widespread. Wi-fi limits you to that available on site or to hotspots.
There are aerials which can be use with some Huawei Mifi units but you’d need to research to find a match.

As I said, you'd need to do some research.
Your Mifi unit is not the same as mine which, with its aerial, is a standard fitting in the van and is as yet unused.
One thing I decided some years back when I considered buying one was to get an unlocked model so I could use a sim from any network.

You cant get a better signal than the one transmitted but you can get 4g in virtually all areas that you would pitch.
First is to get a router with antenna connections. I dont think the E5783 has external antenna connections, I have used the E5785. You need an antenna on the outside of your unit so you will need a hole in the roof.
Have a look at https://www.solwise.co.uk/4g-lte-antenna-considerations.html
Then there is your service provider, it is better to have a couple of data sim, if you have 3 then back it up with Voda, you should be able to get 4G virtually anywhere assuming there is a 4G service within about 10 miles.
