Recommendation for CL's with spacious pitches

Hi, would love to hear any recommendations for CL's - anywhere - that have particularly spacious pitches and/or hedges/screening between pitches for privacy.  We are not anti-social but do also like a lot of personal space, and this feels especially important to us in these strange times.  We stayed in the summer of 2020 on a great CL where pitches were 12 m spacing between them and had hedge screening too.  Would love to go back there but also keen to try new areas - any suggestions very welcome and thank you.

Whey Curd Farm at Wighton Norfolk

    Briarwood Farm Knodeshall Suffolk

Two of our favourites for privacy and size. Whey Curd does not allow children or dogs.

Not a CL - but a CS - Thornthorpe Farm and Equestrian Centre, 2 miles south of Malton.  5 vans in 2 acres - can't be more spread out than that! Unlikely to get any tents at the moment due to toilet block being closed because of Covid restrictions.  Adult only.  One of our favourite spots.

Hartendale Farm at Flamborough is spacious, like being in a large landscaped garden. You need to carry a couple of hook up leads to get well away from others, but pitches aren’t fixed, you just pitch up wherever your lead (or not😁) reaches. There is a storage compound and a rally field adjacent, so best to enquire about any rallies planned prior to booking. It’s AO, as deep pond on site, nice walks straight from Site. Good for pooch owners.

Virtually all CLs have spacious pitches compered with club pitches. I don't think we've ever been on a CL where we felt we were crammed in.

I think personal space is important to all of us, especially now.

Read the reviews and look at the pictures of the CLs as that'll give you a good idea.

Btw, we don't know what areas are new to you which means making suggestions is very hit and miss.

    Good hunting!

Most!! CLs/CSs have spacious pitches compared to other types of siteswink

The problems arise with the herding instinct. of others  that do; it seems, need " to be together"surprised

But there is also if the CL/CS has hard standings and/or EHU if your umbilical will reachundecided

As Tinwheeler says a few geographical details would help.

One that comes to my mind is Burnham Wick Farm in Essex. The field must be at least 100 metres long and pitches were marked out equally so were quite big

Try Brambles on Angelsey. Meets your criteria.

Agree with Ttda about Hartendale Farm. Take 2 EHU cables though.

We've stayed on a few that we would look for alternatives when in those areas again. Generally though I agree with you.

OP might want to pay attention to those CLs that show 1 acre or more as their ground space and then check them out on UK Holidays CL section for photos or reviews.

We stayed at New Farm Holiday CL about 10 miles north of Boston 2 years ago. Has 2 acres and it pitching is up to member.

I try to avoid hard standings and CLs are not usually as fussy as club sites re the use of two leads.

Loads of room here. And water and electric to each pitch.

No hedges separating pitches but no real need. One of our favourite CL's

I've no problem with joining leads but it's a court marshal offence at a club site (should you want/need to)

The problem with two leads is the joint between them is not water tight, unless they are inside a watertight connector cover

Thank you all for the replies so far.  I hadn't specified a geographical area as we are totally open to try anywhere - this year we feel its probably as important to us to get the right site as it is to think about the area to visit.  There is always something new and fun to discover where ever you end up.  Last year we stayed on a lovely CL with huge pitches and hedging which I would recommend to anybody - Olcote Farm, Huttoft in Lincolnshire - never been to Lincs before but we loved it!

Thank you again - any more suggestions welcome.

If it absolutely must be a CL then there are others who can give you better advice than I can, but if you are willing to widen your choice to find the sort of space you are asking for then look through the photos and details on the Cool Camping website - some of the campsites there are very informal and out of the ordinary and might meet your wish list.

In the unlikely event that I would have to link two cables I would just leave the connectors as they are and just ensure the join is not going to become submerged.

Hi we are in Cornwall and we have 2 very spacious pitches. If intersted please phone to book so that we can confirm that those pitches are available

Is Birch Hill CL in Shropshire spacious enough for you?  There are 5 vans in this picture, spread over 2 acres.

The photo was taken when we re-opened post-lockdown a couple of days ago.
