Any idea what this is?

Getting the van out of storage and reconnecting the leisure battery, I noticed this 'plug'?, hanging there with one of its wires broken.

Anyone have any idea what it is?

When it comes to electrics, I really have no idea.

    Temperature sensor is my guess.  It helps your charging system give the battery the most appropriate charge.

    Tend to agree, remote sensor for a solar controller maybe?

    I did that, just because I could.  But it doesn't appear to have any way of being held in, no screws or anything to grip the wire.

    As its snowing like mad at the moment, I will have a closer look tomorrow.

    My guess is that wire has broken away from one of the mini spade terminals in the connector. 

    Separate the two halves of the connector.  The spade can then be carefully pulled from the connector, the wire can then be soldered on and the spade refitted.

    Well I had a look and upon removing the Male part( which has the broken wire), I find that this part of the sensor is solid.  Does not separate and allow reconnection.

    Not sure how vital this sensor is, just assume that as it's there, then it should be in good condition. 

    I will try and source a replacement.

    My wife said 'Why don't you ask the dealers service team what it might be'?

    I did and they said the same, temperature sensor...so your guesses were spot on.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Now, if only you could explain how to get the DVD/radio player to send a picture to the built in TV....it is an ongoing project....pity it's so cold at present.

    Knowing the make and model of your RV and the DVD / Radio player may help undecided.  In most cases it's just a case of pressing the right buttons (ask your wife wink).

    To know how important the sensor is to your system it would help to know about your system.  Do you have an SP (solar panel) how many leisure batteries, etc.

    I use an HDMI cable from my player to the back of the TV.

    (I appreciate that not all players have the required output terminal nor TVs  the necessary input slot.)
