Hello All.

We have recently purchased our first caravan. Sterling Europa 540.

We have a couple of electrical issues that we would like help with.

The bathroom light doesn't work. I have checked the bulb it is ok. No 12volts coming to it.

Is there a fuse that supplies only this light somewhere in the van all the rest work.

When on the mains the digital display shows 14volts. Is this the charger for the battery as i am only getting 4 volts at the battery.? another fuse somewhere?

All the lights only work when connected to the mains which will be be because of the leisure battery voltage.

Thanks

The bathroom light may have both a pull cord and a switch on the light, both need to be on.

    Possible the battery is dead.

yes on our van there is rocker switch on the actual bathroom light and also a switch for it on the outside and they are not 3 way switching.

As Suggested, check the battery out first. Try disconnecting it and measuring the voltage directly on the battery terminals using a multimeter, then go online and look for charge levels vs voltage for your battery.

If with the battery disconnected, you only have 4 volts then the battery is defiantly knackered.

On electrical hook up with the battery connected and everything switched off, you should get approx 13.8v across the battery if the charger is charging the battery.

There will be a number of 12v blade fuses in the power box, check these, but my guess is that they are ok if other lights are working.

If everything ok, you have a wiring / Light problem, Try checking the 12v to the light with it disconnected at the light.
