Well I have noticed the pattern of orange squares keeps changing on a site I have been keeping my eye on but hard to say why other than it looks like cancellations!
R2B never met AD so he is hardly a buddy but i will keep any eye out for him when in Spain next. Most unlikely to meet him on a Club site.

Sometimes it's far better to say nothing rather than pick on one individual or event, especially when others abound. Now, would you like to borrow a shovel or is it time to stop digging?

Yes, everyone we met was having a good time Brue. One or two were a tad shocked at just how nice the weather was, and the fact that we had been swimming in North Sea, (September) but I suspect for most it was a nice change in a difficult year. Some of the MHs were very large, full of all sorts of kit.

Southport PD👍 Mind, unless there’s been some early booking (speculative, might not need to go) site might be booked up now. (That’s a joke by the way😁)

Thanks AD Likewise.

this has it up sides and down sides, on the site we will be visiting on the 4th May for a couple of weeks, there are a number of camping/tenting fields, the email i received from the site owner said the camping/tenting fields would not be open until approx the 17th May, so in general the site will be fairly quite as will be the indoor swimming pool which i greatly like , down sides, no facilities but who cares, I am a big kid at heart and do like a kick around with the kids (small), and I do like the banter you get on a camping field, especially in the evenings, much better than stuck in the white box watching telly but we have many more nights away planned so i am sure we will have a great time.

Great idea! We must make the most of the opportunity while you’re in this country👍🏻

OK, enough is enough.
We cant agree on over there, or stay here.
We cant agree on facilities or not so, how on earth are we going to agree on a dress code?!!!
It could be like the feeling you get when a loved book is turned into a film-you see the character you could describe to a T and...............they look nothing like the image in your head!
Anyone who has read the Jack Reacher novels, and imagined how he would look, may not have seen Tom Cruise, who played him in the films.!

well depends if it a Zoom/teams meeting or real life.
Zoom/teams - formal top but shorts and crocs below?

Good luck with that. Have you checked the dates of the Tour Of Britain?

We booked our pitch in Cornwall last year as soon as roll over start was announced😁

Make sure you bring a good book for the A30 sojourn, you’ll probably be able to read the first few chapters on the M5 at Bristol!

Corners wrote "formal top but shorts and crocs below"
At my age I'm a croc from head to toe.

I doubt the visitors will come for just one day - more like a week or two.

First stage is in Cornwall, the Sunday, then second is Devon, south Hams and all over Dartmoor to Exeter, so a two day event for us. Crowds are usually very big, we expect them to be enormous this year, as cycling fans won’t have been able to get overseas to see any of the other races. We have a week booked, expect a lot of other folks will have as well, as it’s the first time it’s been to Cornwall for decades. Fans and followers usually like to spend a day before race going around course, looking for best vantage points.

The tour passed our way in 2017 apart from the roads on the route being closed firstly for pot hole repairs and secondly on race day it was a fleeting effect of traffic and tourist chaos. Maybe it's different at the start or end. Anyway we're down for the whole month walking and visiting relatives who will advise. We will be visiting Phillack which looks close to the route as well as Praze and St Agnes which aren't.

We've planned a series of small breaks through to September, nothing in August as it's usually the busiest time in our area. I'm hoping we'll be able to take up these breaks, it's all a bit of a step into the unknown. The numbers holidaying here depend on restrictions being changed as the months progress but so far it looks a bit crowded!

Well that's a b****er.
Ruddy cyclists. Didn't realise that they were heading into South Hams on the 6th. September, the day we were booked to move from North Devon to a C.L. near Kingsbridge! Do you think they'll stop the race whilst we squeeze past?
Good job I read CT as I wouldn't have wanted to find out in September.

Rolling roadblock usually WN, unless close to start and finish. Some places get few few spectators, but anything up a hill, on a bend will be busy, and once it’s rolled through ( which if there’s a breakaway, can take over an hour or so) then there’s usually a mad cycle chase to get to next viewing point, to watch again, if course allows enough time.
Roads will be closed very early in morning in some places, when we did race car ride, we were on the road with the police escort riders at 6.30 am, couple of hours down at start, then riders roll out. First day is always busy. Finish usually packed as well, most folks go to finish for a full day, have a look at all team buses, big screen etc.....

Yes, some of the rural parts of the course are fabulous viewing if you can get out there. It was Cumbria and the Borders stage that we followed in a car a few years ago. Stunning scenery. We spent six hours on the road, the biggest challenge was finding somewhere without spectators to have a pee!😂 The fellas were ok, behind a stone wall, but for the ladies it was more of a challenge. The car pulled up near Newcastleton for us to have a pee in some woodlands, we thought we were ok until a load of folks ran up wanting to know who was in the liveried car, cameras at the ready. 🤣🤣
