We have bookings in Scotland in early May. In the covid advice the club now says in line with guidance it intends to open sites from the 26th April. However, there is a caveat in the sentence:-

“For further information about the current guidance in Scotland including local and cross border travel restrictions, social distancing, rules on overnight stays and the use of shared facilities, please visit https://www.gov.scot/coronavirus-covid-19/ “

I have looked at the guidance re what you can and can’t do on the 26th and if we are allowed in. The only statement I can find is “Travel within mainland Scotland allowed.”  All of Mainland Scotland initially goes into tier 3, which previously would have prevented us travelling into Scotland. I can find no mention of that in the modified conditions.

Anyone found a definitive statement?

    Hi Steve

I don’t have the definite answer but I the parliament speech on Tuesday the FM stated that travel restrictions will end on 26th April and she hopes this will include cross border travel so at the moment I think you will be ok to come up here. We have a trip down to England booked from 30th April and are expecting to go

I have had a read of the restrictions in place in Scotland, and going right through thr document it seems cross border travel will not be allowed for anything that is not essential? and it seems, by the wording in the document it could wll be June or beyond depending on how the virus can be controlledsurprised

Yes JV as I say I don’t have the exact answer but according to what I’ve read in our newspapers (I know never believe the papers lol) everyone seems to think that cross border travel will be allowed at the same time the FM stated this the other day too so I’m pretty sure cross border travel will be ok I don’t possibly see what explanation she could give for trying to restrict cross border travel if we can travel around here freely

Yea that’s true another statement to apparently fill in the detail. Oh she does like to make her speeches :)
