Cleaning costs reduced by a bottle of bleach a day (labour is still paid for) but utilities I doubt too much, maybe some on lighting and maybe less water but as everyone one on site would be heating all their water by EHU which is a lot less efficient than one gas boiler not a lot saved?

Offer was genuine, just ask if you looking for anything else. Need to know your preferences to get something close of course. Same offer to others as well...👍

No need to heat copious amounts of hot water with relatively expensive LPG for ablutions.  No 7-10 Ltrs toilet flushes hundreds if not thousands of times per day.  No need for more than marginal facilities heating and none if the weather is not freezing.

On average the two of us use 325 Ltrs of water a day at home but being fully self sufficient in the van we use about 50 Ltr.  Most people will use that 50 Ltr or more, on just one shower in a site facility so much less gets heated; a considerable energy saving.

I fully agree.  Spain will be open mid May or so they say, but whether we will be allowed to travel is another thing entirely.

LPG is cheap in bulk we pay 38p a litre C&MC will pay considerably less and I did say they will save on lighting, no need for heating in April or May (hopefully).

On site you do not use a washing machine or dishwasher and I did say less water used but it is very expensive to heat even a small 10l Truma boiler compared to an industrial heating system per litre.  Remember when you rinse your cassette you waste lot of water washing it out a few times and maybe leave hose running whilst you swish it round.

I agree people will not be running hot water for a luxurious shower for 5 minutes or more but still think overall there is not much cost savings and considerably less than people think but its irrelevant as there will be no discount anywaysmile

It will be interesting to see the full CAMC company accounts for the years 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and compare them with earlier years.

That may be so but a single headline figure like that is in reality totally meaningless.

I understand that there are hundreds of pre-loved RIBS and other infatable dinghies in Kent available for a return trip to France and a ready resale market over there.  You could start a mini ferry service. 😂

It goes to show how much is needed in income just to start to get money to continue investment, that many say our club needs to do  , already since last year major projects have been curtailed or reduced that were in the pipeline undecided

If just for one night stopover after travel I, like David I suspect wants a no fuss (perhaps seeking out owner), easy access, pay at entrance,  pitch, leave when ready, easy exit.

No idea as I thought from sometime around May travel might be possible.

My reply was meant to be light hearted, which David seemed to accept in that spirit - maybe you hadn't realised that!

I had not even considered that one way or the other. I had not noticed who's reply I had quoted as I only made a post of what my considerations would have been for a stopover.

"No idea as I thought from sometime around May travel might be possible."

Not "the first week in May", at least not for overseas travel. And I very much doubt that David would be using a club site for a one night stopover otherwise? Maybe best to go back and re-read the original exchange, before quoting from one part of it out of context!  👍

Rancour? No, no, just trying to help you out when you misunderstand exchanges between other posters.  👍

I had no interest in exchanges. I simply used a post to comment on what I felt about what I might consider a high price for a one night stop off. No more and no less. No further interest than that. Please don't concern yourself with helping me out, not needful to me
