One thing to remember with many posts on here ,the prices quoted are normally off peak when using sites at those prices, which can be vary much near the same prices in the UK for the same periods

That makes little sense to me.  The utility costs would be much reduced and the cleaning and maintenance costs also.

Not really....we use sites varying in price from €15 (on average) upwards....The location is the deciding factor.

We have an existing booking from 2020 (small deposit paid) which we have taken up and moved to late summer this year. This is an 'exclusive' site with average pitch sizes 150mx150m, fully serviced with 16amp, free wifi, picnic table and a hammock slung between two trees...€24 pn. (You even get a welcome drink on arrival)..

Appreciate that is 'overthere' but there are many commercial sites here in the UK with the same facilities for £25 pn...minus the hammockwink

Also just booked a lovely CL with SP's (£105) in place of Barnard Castle (SP) (£288)..

Looking at the bookings on club sites from 12April ,either those who have booked are expecting facilities to be open, are hoping for a change and they will be open? ,are using their own as the directive to camp sites, surprised

That’s the way to do it GTP👍 We found Barnard Castle very expensive for what it is. It’s about to lose its best feature as well, that dog walking field adjacent. Club has plans in to cram in yet more pitches.

Possibly the location is considered a “must see” as part of the “Do You Remember The Pandemic” holiday trail.😉 Unique selling point.

Tell me where you want to go, and you might not have to pay it this time😁 There’s usually a CL/small private Site out there that might fit the bill.

(That will be a dearer week with Club, that BH Monday is usually stretched out to a week in Club land🤷‍♀️)

Did they close any facilities blocks last year, I thought they were kept open (not always the case with C&CC.) What they did close was a whole tranche of non facility sites which was disappointing although staff shortages were the reasons given.

But you still booked it! I bet there are many on here who could suggest a CL nearby for considerably less than that ..... unless, of course there's just something about club sites that make them irresistible to you! wink

It’s also very well located for walking from the site into BC and along the Tees. Certainly if like us you want to leave the MH on site. Obviously it depends where the CL is located but for a caravaner possibly less of an issue.

    pitch sizes 150mx150m

Are you sure that's right, if so as well as a hammock you could have your own Olympic sized pool and tennis court.

Fair enough (although you obviously were thinking of the cost, or else you wouldn't have mentioned it surely?)  laughing
