Hi everyone, hope your all safe and well, my wife and I are new to caravan club and its been many years since owning a caravan. My question is I have my caravan in secure storage up in Falkirk Scotland and I will be wanting it to be moved down to Norfolk in the next couple of weeks most probably the beginning of April. The reason I am asking this question is my car an E class Mercedes does not have tow bar fitted at the moment, has anyone ever had to have their caravan transported in the uk and is it an expensive thing to do, We are in Spain at the moment hoping to to return to the uk at the end of the month , also has anyone ever had a tow bar fitted to a mercedes E CLASS sports coupe , my other option of course is to change my car. I would be very grateful for any input on the questions I've asked, kindest regards Ken .

I don't know of firms that transport caravans although there must be many around as they usually deliver new caravans to dealers that way. Perhaps a search in the Hull area would bring up some results? The fees will be mileage based I imagine so probably not cheap? One option might be to hire a car with a tow ball fitted. Perhaps the Club could help with suggestions as they often despatch cars abroad when members vehicles have broken down and have to be sent back to the UK. Because of lack of European travel there might be a more plentiful supply around at the moment?

By putting in a web search "caravan towing services" there are companies in the uk who will help.

Hi guys thank you for your answers to my questions, very helpful indeed, their are company's who do vehicle hire with tow bars fitted and quite reasonable price wise , much cheaper than engaging a tow company, being a retired ex class one driver I think I will be able to manage the job myself and have a couple of pounds left over for a couple of pints of bitter afterwords, regards Ken.
