    Fantastic place, or it was, as a boy used to cycle from Blackburn to Southport for a day out, ruck sack full of grub for lunch on on arrival, full of apples that we scrumped on the way home. Great cycle ride as mostly on the flat, dont expect the club had a site in Southport in those days laughingwe used to caravan as a family in Scarborough and the surrounding arealaughing

    I am looking at the United Kingdom as being ranked 11th in Europe

    The united kingdom is not a single country as it is made up of four countries Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, Luxembourg etc are each a small part of a single Schengen travel area.

    If you look as the countries within the UK travel area they are not that large. Wales, England, Scotland Northern Ireland are all fairly small countries. Also part of a smaller travel area than Schengen I was comparing like with like David

    Sadly as a Lancastrian I miss the lower number of Lanky accents over the last 20 years.
