well if they are not open until i think the 17th May it looks like we will have to use the shower in the caravan which will be a first for us. Dont see why facilities should stay closed, most public toilets in our area are open so why not on campsites ?

If not already seen this is the para relating to shared facilities.
I cannot see the government changing this policy guidance.....for starters some poor CS would have to rewrite 'Step 2' and re issue.
Additional premises will be able to reopen but should only be visited alone or with household groups: non-essential retail; personal care premises such as hairdressers, salons and close contact services; and indoor leisure facilities such as gyms and spas (but not including saunas and steam rooms, which are due to open at Step 3). Overnight stays away from home in this country will be permitted and self-contained accommodation - those that do not require shared use of bathing, entry/exit, catering or sleeping facilities - can also reopen, though must only be used by members of the same household. The Government will open public buildings such as libraries and community centres. Activities such as driving tests may also resume.

Is it true that in Wales sites are to open from 29th March? I have just read that a CC member has booked a pitch, through the club's booking service, on the Brecon Beacon site from that date!!

We managed about 50 nights away last year, about 35% of normal usage, and never used a communal facility once. No need to.
Can't see what the problem is in using your own. We'll do the same this year and it may take some time before we do use a facility on a campsite again. If it's the difference between opening campsites or leaving them shut then it's really an obvious choice, although I'm sure the CAMC will open sites but close blocks if needed to.

I was speaking to a site in Scotland today and the owner., whose site is in the BHHA said he had had a round robin stating that sites in Wales to open on 29th.March. Haven't seen anything on local news yet but then again I've been busy doing other things.
So looks like ti Nellie.
I haven't looked at English travel restrictions so don't know if you will be able to use them until 12th.April.

No earlier than 12 April:
All shops allowed to open
Restaurants and pub gardens will be allowed to serve customers sitting outdoors, including alcohol
Gyms and spas can reopen for individuals and households
Hairdressers, beauty salons and other "close contact services" can reopen

How are site wardens, on those sites where there are at present caravanners/Motorhomers staying who have no permanent residence and at present are using all the site's facilities, going to manage those facilities when they open up their sites from 12th April for one and all when those same facilities are not supposed to be open? Will there be one rule for the few and another for the majority?

You may be able to travel then, but doesn't the "no overnight stay" instruction remain in force?
Anyway, as we've been told throughout, just because you can do something it doesn't mean you should.
Probably wiser to wait the extra couple of weeks surely?

You obviously realise Johnson was talking about England. You will be able to travel into Wales and or Scotland if and when those Parliaments lift their restrictions for you to do so. The laws for travel inside those areas are for those Devolved Govs to make.

Do we know that people staying on such sites are using the site facilities? I have no idea but just wondering.

They certainly were during the first lockdown, and I suspect that it will be no different this time either, although I could be wrong.

There was some discussion on our SW TV news that camp sites might be able to open up toilet facilities as per public toilets but maybe not the shower areas at present. Still waiting for confirmation I think.
(Not that we'll personally use them at all.)

I don’t think it will be campsite pitches, or lack of that cause the angst in Cornwall July and August. I recall the photos and feedback we got from Cornish friends a few years back when there were miles of blocked tiny roads to places like Porthcurno, folks queuing to get onto beach. Ten years ago, we seldom went into St Ives because of the traffic, and that was June. It’s going to be busy........

Kenexton l was diagnosed in March 2018 with stage 3 prostrate cancer.Thanks to the wonderful Doctors, Radiologists and Nurses of The Christie in Manchester everything is looking o/k. l had Brachytherapy and 15 shots of Low beam radio therapy plus 2 years Zoladex hormone implants. l have just had my 4th consultation and everything looks fine. The wife and l had our jabs 2 weeks ago so next we week we should be covered. l have to say the Zoladex was an AstraZeneca drug so l was pleased l received the Oxford AZ vaccine, its quite apt really as l worked for AZ for 31 years at the Macclesfield site now known has the Americans like to call it a campus, Kenexton l hope you recover well from the your C as l am sure you will. Believe me these lock downs have fetched it home to me how important it is to live for today, we cant wait for April and pray and hope we don't have to go through it again. l am now getting the motor home all spruced up for next month its been moth balled since the end of October apart from a couple of run outs to make sure everything is OK, due for a engine service and brakes on Monday then we will be ready for the off

So very true, it is OK having plans for this year but some people have plans for where they would like to visit in 10 years or so; unfortunately there is no guarantee they will still be around or have the health to achieve those dreams. .

Yes, apart from the 28 day rule, seems to be very few controls on landowners setting up pop up campsites. Shove a few portaloos in the corner of a field and you’ve got yourself a campsite. Some are fine, some are problematic.

Of course its going to be busy.............it always is!!
St Ives is our favourite place and we would always drive through the town, along the harbour then past Porthmeor and out.
We do so now but only out of season however its usually possible to work around things but the problem is when people only have their two weeks, then you throw in a couple of bad days and then the sun comes out and its a problem.
So, if you can come outside of the school holiday period and, if venturing to St Ives, go o the Rugby Club where there is lots of parking and the bus will take you into town dropping you at Porthmeor, opposite the Tate.
I do think some people are spreading out their visits.......................the problem is they arriving already.
