i think this is relevant
"All holiday accommodation (hotels, B&Bs, self-catering, caravan and camping sites) can stay open in line with sector guidance for tourism and hospitality. However, tourists should not travel into, or out of, a Level 3 area for holidays or visits. Exceptions for essential travel includes those who must travel for work, education, health, participate in or facilitate shared parenting or for those attending weddings or funerals which requires an overnight stay"

If it goes back to how it was pre Christmas, it would mean you can only go to a campsite if its in your local authority area.
Not as some think if you are in a tier 3 area you can go to any tier 3 area. Tier 3 and 4 in Scotland you are not to travel out of your area. Tier 1 and 2 can but shouldn't go into tier 3/4 areas.
Its going to be a complete farce if we do go back into tiers as folk will just ignore it.
There was no mention of campsites just a general mention that from 26th April new things will open up gradually.
We will head south as soon as we can after having second jab. Whenever that may be, vaccination here over the last week has dropped to a third of what it was the week before.

Thanks Tammy. Doesn't sound good if Tier 3 imposed from 26th.April as we're due away first week in May. Feel sorry for you though having to wait so long to start moving around again. Our FM has indicated that things may change on that front mid March at the next review, although he also said it might be keeping to Local authority areas for a while.
Our number of vaccines are down as well. I'm pretty sure it's do with amount allocated to us by OAZ has dropped for a fortnight while they make changes to their production lines. Should pick up again pretty soon.
Good luck and best wishes.

The whole situation is hedged about with so many "ifs" and "buts" that we have made no bookings before June.I have been in an effective "lockdown" since iI was diagnosed with cancer Nov.2019 ,so kind of habituated to it now🙈Anyway the C is behind me now and awaiting Jab no 2 but travel plans on hold until situation clearer.Making the best of it by getting the builders in and getting my OH off my back re "home improvements"😕Once that "pain" has passed "off to the Races and sod what it costs! It is only money and believe me you really cannot take it with you🙏.

l have booked Bridlington one week in every month from April until October (we usually go twice anyway), we have decided that due to the stay cations most places will be busy, hopefully northeast coast not quiet so. it gives us everything we want. We were planning new forest trip but were afraid the traffic down south off putting. We live on the East Cheshire boarders between Derbyshire Lancashire area so its much easy to get to North Yorkshire. At least with being a member of the club the prices stay relative stable with no profiteering, like the big sites are doing. The only thing that concerns me is if we see an increase in outfits unfit for the road due to people hoping to get away for holidays, or even those that have never towed before raking havoc on the roads.

If people are worried about traffic caused by everyone staying in the UK whether, where it is possible for people to do so, they should perhaps consider travelling on a weekday? For short four day trips away we usually travel Monday and return home on Friday and it seems to work OK. I appreciate there is likely to be more commercial traffic around during the week but it's usually the weekends where the general working public travel which causes excess traffic? Just a thought.

I would not be booking or planning any holiday in Scotland until after the planned May elections!Who knows what she will do!!!

Yes,you must not mention anything which could be construed to be in any way political by the moderators!Just one point about the tier system in Scotland....It could also stop residents from holidaying in another part of scotland!I will say no more on the matter!!

I wish you well H. We normally stay on a CL just down the road from the Club site (High Breame). We were there last July and Brid was absolutely heaving and as a consequence we didn't go off-site that much. The CL is fully booked this year and the earliest we could get in is the end of October!
Living only 15 miles away - and I'm on the beach every morning with the dog, there is already evidence of visitors being here. According to local gossip, those from another part of Yorkshire - with statics in the various holiday parks, have been told they're OK to stay, providing they 'keep a low profile'!

Should have been at High Breame last week of March...Just spoke with John to see if he had any dates end of April....not a chance....every day booked solid. Going to Cayton Village instead to see what the club has done with the site.

I looked on the Tranquil sites web site and the adults only, there are a lot of sites with less than 100 pitches, most fully svcd that had dates available, just booked one down in Cornwall, and most were very reasonably priced, the only draw back is, for most you have to pay a deposit, which of course you do not have to do with the club, but the one we have booked protect your deposit against another covid lock down by offering you a return of funds or new booking dates.

We've stayed with John and Kim, twice a year, ever since they opened but it looks as if this year, we will have to give it a miss. Although we have spent three Christmases there, we don't do that any more because the ground tends to get a bit boggy at that time of the year Think I'd better put a booking in for 2022!

I think East Coast of Yorkshire will be heaving this Summer, from Whitby right down to Humber. It’s always busy, but this year it will be more so, without a doubt.

Hi Heethers, I know that al the talk at the moment is of the horrendous situation we face this summer due to everyone staying in the UK.
My view is that whist it may be busier, overall, its the peak school period that will be most affected so out side of that your trips should not be too badly affected.
Similarly you should not be put off going 'down South', I have seen no great evidence of profiteering-most prices set a long time ago-and the only havoc is usually that generated to sensationalise in an attempt to sell more newspapers.
Hope you have many happy non stressful trips!

I now have 3 sites booked Dorset/Devon/Cornwall May thru September, all non CAMC, the only problem, or not, is that you have to leave a deposit but all sites have said that if we have to go into lock down again then they will either refund or carry the money forward to another booking.
looking on the clubs booking site, if you can get it to work, then most sites are either fully booked or only have odd days available mid week, (clarify...the ones i have looked at ) and without wanting to start another debate on the merits or demerits of the way the club handles bookings, it would be an interesting exercise, if possible, to record how many cxlations are made throughout the season.
I think one person on this forum, said they had booked 1 week per month thru the season at a particular site just to ensure they had somewhere to go, just one of the advantages of the booking system i guess
P.S. i should have said non of the sites had inflated prices

I'm not saying they are profiteering but on our local news last night - five of our beach car parks, not owned by the same businesses, are making large increases to their parking prices, the reason given - to lessen the crowds and to make up for not being used last year.

Surely the number of cancellations is not the important thing, it is the eventual occupancy that matters? I think the Club do mention overall (not individual sites) occupancy in the AGM minutes. The unknown is that those sites that demand deposits we have no idea what their occupancy is. One could guess that perhaps in the peak season it is probably quite high but out of season? It seems to me that the Club achieve a pretty high occupancy throughout the season. This year is going to be different for all sorts of reasons so probably not the best year to base future strategies on?

occupancy agree 100 pct, bums on seats and all that, but surely how cancellations are then taken up must be a bit of a lottery, right place at right time is all i can think of if you are using the club booking system.

I am glad that we booked sites (in January)for a tour starting in july ,as checking this morning ,as pitch availability it would not be possible trying to book the same tour today
As posted elsewhere those who have bookings from when sites open to mid may ,may not have realised that the communial facilities blocks according to HMG route out of lockdown, will not be open

The Club has said it is seeking guidance from the Govt about opening facility blocks on 12 April, JV. It's still awaiting a decision.

I had booked sites and a CL earlier in the year, not all with CAMC and just in the hope that we would be able to start going away again. I'm now looking at C&CC THS (temporary hoiday sites) which if all is ok we'll use for short breaks, some nice venues and no bookings needed for quite a few.
I've also just been giving the van a close inspection so that's another cleaning job, will leave OH to do the outside, which has got quite bad, or as a neighbour said about his "a roof suitable for tomato growing...."
Good luck with all your plans.

Would expect a tailing off after the August BH weekend, but never looked at anything after June in the UK , simply because July/August in the UK is much to busy for us, and we already have Sept all booked up with a 1 month stay in Devon booked last year

I'm have sites booked but I'm waiting to hear about communal areas.
