Far preferable to catching Covid!

Dont have a problem with it, nothing booked in the UK until September, and my BF flexi tickets will still be valid once we are allowed to travel.
#p.s. might even book a club site in Dorset May time, Bridport could be good, the one the club took over 3 years back and everybody hates, bound to be pitches available

Even though HO are saying that they not yet going to state when the club sites are going to open it appears that CLs are set to open in 12th April. That should suit us fine as we need only cancal/postpone a couple of CLs at the start of our planned trip, provided of course that OH can get an appointment at the hairdressers as soon as they open and M.D. opens up Wales by then.

I see we can "go out for the day" from 29 March, so that will enable us to blow the cobwebs away before any proper trips.

Mmm, I definitely heard that use of communal buildings was taboo.

Just booked 1st 2 weeks in May at one of our old stomping grounds in Dorset, fully svcd pitch, no problems, and i got a 10 pct discount, sortedjust got to decide what to do with our BF flexi tickets
Not Bingham Grange, really liked this site, but that was before the club bought it , now it has too many occupants who hate it because it is not of a club design

Talk about a surge in bookings. We experienced that yesterday - our kids ( grown up with family's of their own) both booking time away in our static van. Barely giving us time to set it up for the season. I'm sure we can squeeze some time in though.

Hi David, Had an interesting conversation with the manager of a very large touring site at Hollywell bay, near Newquay, whilst visiting yesterday.
I asked how bookings were going, and he said almost all their accommodation was fully booked.
I asked about touring an he said there was not much left, for example there was nowhere on site that two side by side pitches were available nor were there any dog friendly pitches left.
I said that was clearly good news for them, this was around mid day so no news then on the dates of opening, and he said it was but they were hoping that Easter opening might be possible-he will be dissapointed.
So when is it you are fully booked, I asked. July and August was the answer.
But are you not fully booked then usually, I asked.-Yes!!
His view was that people may be booking earlier, for the busy July/August period, and they were actively looking at ways of encouraging stays outside of the school holiday periods.

If only Moulesy. The kids making use of it was part of the reason for getting it. Now that our eldest grandson is at Uni nearby our son will like to visit more often. Our grandson recently mentioned 'borrowing' it as well, we sort of side stepped that one but I expect that time will come.

I think the reduced rate is still aplicable for bookings made before March 31st even if they are taken up after this date (my own searches.)
On booking a site the message reads "Please note that any applicable VAT reduction will not be reflected in this booking confirmation and the correct VAT rate will be applied upon arrival at the site when you pay for your stay."
So if you book before March 31st your VAT rate will be lower (it has been made during the qualifying period.)

We are happy bunnies here. Booked a lovely cottage for a fortnight in Summer, far enough away from crowds, but close to some very nice beaches. No issues with deposits or full refunds either, even if it isn’t a lockdown. Can’t ask fairer than this. It’s somewhere we have been before, so we know how safe, clean and nice it is, with lovely helpful owners. Lots booked for us now, all without any monetary penalties. We shall continue to keep ourselves safe, doing things carefully. The motorhome will go to the cottage with us, it worked brilliantly last Autumn.

I read it as you will pay the rate in place at the time of payment. No reduction therefore unless the government maintains a lower VAT rate. Can't see why they would personally

That’s how I have interpreted Vat at Club Sites. You pay the rate applicable at the time of your stay, as it’s Government policy, rather than anything the Club has determined. (such as the interim price rises a couple of years ago).

Having just watched the FM of Scotland make her announcement of how Scotland is to come out of Lockdown its not going to be a quick one.
It would appear we are to return to the tier system around the end of April.
If anyone has bookings for Scotland you may wish to amend them as I can't see us opening up to any visitors before May at the very earliest.
This is not going to go down well with the people of Scotland as we have the lowest figures in the whole of the UK yet again we are to be held to the slowest realise from lockdown.
