If it applies for all sizes of motorhomes it is probably a good deal and worth considering for a few days. Typical return ferry fare cost for my motorhome would be £250. The Chunnel at £200 return is cheaper.

Seems like a classic CAMC offer, no indication of real prices just a "from price".

Why not a "from/to" price for all the months rather than lumping April/ May/ June/July  all together. At least that way you would have some idea of the final cost.

I have actually used this deal a couple of years ago, and i think the price today is the same as then, i seem to recall we extended our stay which was ok as you just pay for the additional days stayed.

The IOW ferries are some of the most expensive in the world if you look at the distance travelled, and the last time i looked it was £80 return fare for car + 4 people so the £150 is def  not a bad deal, however, the IOW in many places has stood still in time, beautiful scenery and of course you have Osbourne House and grounds, dont think you get a choice of crossings and we sailed from Lymington - Yarmouth, which is not actually close to the site  and the roads were terrible. I think the club must have difficulty filling this site as this deal has run for many years.

Could be the closest some will get to going abroad this year laughing make sure you take your EHIC or now GHIClaughing

I think I paid around £105 for the crossing (Lymington-Yarmouth), car and two passengers last October, with a discount through the club. Seems like a good deal.

Was the deal in the past for five days at Southlandsundecided

Actually the crossing to the IOW is not the most expensive it is quite a way down the list;as I was advised by a wight link manager but I cannot remember how far down the listsurprised

    A timely post.

I checked out a return crossing with the club just last night. Car/van and 2 adults in June - Portsmouth to Fishbourne in June. Price £279.20 the crossing only takes 45 mins. I couldn't justify that price under any circumstances.

    I pressed delete

The IOW offers are very confusing. After cancelling last years late summer in France I put together a UK tour taking in IOW. The C&MC deal booked online did not make sense and the crossing worked out expensive.

We stayed at Whitefield Forest and were very impressed. Lovely toilet/shower block, free internet, nice pitches etc. We booked direct with the site as this offered the best Red Funnel crossing price. It is best to phone the site as from memory 5 and 10 day visits could be booked through Red Funnel but 7 day was via campsite.

The crossing was still not cheap but campsite costs in Sept where favourable and the overall package was cheaper than the C&MC offers.

    I have paid £146.25 for a crossing in August for a motorhome + a 2 week stay at Southland, 2 adults & a grandchild.....

    Wightlink, Portsmouth to Fishbourne.

Compared to booking direct this was about half price, so very reasonable.

However, that saving is lost when booking an additional vehicle for our daughter to join us for a week when I had to pay £240 for a Nissan Qashqai..... so yes it is expensive especially when I can book 2 air tickets to Tenerife 2k miles away.....
