Hello,

We have recently moved to the IOW and so we are ending our caravan time as we are doing up a house and living a bit of a dream, roof gone, heating given up, windows falling out but in an amazing location so have taken the difficult decision to sell our 8ft wide 2019 Baileys Grande Bologna. Being the one that does all the money and finances in the relationship where do I look to find a price to sell it at. I am aware they are selling like hotcakes and thought the best place to sell it would be on the caravan classifieds on this site (although terrified of scammers!) so just want to start off with any sound advice please and also what to watch out for. Obviously can't sell until end of lockdown. How do I sell privately, so if I sell do I do it through PayPal? This is the bit that terrifies me how to exchange the caravan for the money if I manage to sell it! It is finance free. Thank you.

I think you need to look at what similar vans are selling for on web sites, including private adverts and dealers. Take off a percentage for the dealership offerings as they will have a mark up.

This is a good basic guide to selling safely. AutoTrader LINK

If you're on the IOW viewers might have to pay the fery fare more than once so you might need to factor a bit of goodwill in too. Hopefully you'll find a local buyer. Good luck. smile

For payment you could check out PayPal's terms or insist on a bank transfer with the van to be released on receipt of funds which should be quick.

Thanks for the link, that’s great. The caravan is in Gloucestershire so easier, I only have to pay for my ferry fare and I go across a lot anyway to see family in normal times. Tried searching but can’t find one for that year, they just say sold with no price, will keep looking!

The five currently advertised on e-Bay are all around £25k.

I did a Google web search and couldn't find any just been to look and yes that is for the 2021 model not the 2019 but I did find one similar to ours but with single beds rather than the double island bed and the same year so that has given me a guide price thanks!

I would contact a dealer for a price (the easy option) to find your baseline price to build on? As they are desperate for stock, you might get an offer that saves the worry.

If selling private, I would choose bank transfer, and would want to check its cleared before releasing the caravan
