Misleading Car Insurance Benefit
If you click on 'Insurance - car - benefits' you will be told that one of the benefits of your policy is "up to 270 days FULL POLICY COVER when you tour EU and associated countries". I have renewed my policy fully comprehensive and the policy document and Certificate of Insurance state that only the legal minimum in a country is covered. This is misleading and members should be aware. I spoke with the Club and they blamed Brexit and that if I needed a Green Card (and one for the caravan) I would have to pay an administrative fee.

I have always specifically asked about type of and number of days European cover. Green card policy also differs between companies. I have only ever chosen that issue a statement within the policy. The legal minimum country of visiting level of cover is also commonly quoted by most insurance companies, but when asking you will find a lot automatically increase this to your UK level for 90 days with the ability to increase this for an extra premium.
If you are within your cooling off period I would go online and search the likes of the annoying GoCompare. I'm on my second year going through then as the £250 free x/s brings your policy down noticeably, although this perk is only for the UK. It will give you a list of companies that meet your needs with direct link telephone numbers so you can go through the specific details you need to know.
John Lewis are also worth a look at present. There car policy offers what I and by the sounds of it you require.

Thanks Eriba as usual I did look at all the Comparison sites! I have spoken again with the Club and been told that to get the Comprehensive cover, ie Green Card, I would want should we be able to go to Europe this year would incur an 'Admin fee' of £15 the Green Card would also cover the caravan. Coincidently, this would make the Club cost and the best on line quote, even when reduced after my silence for a week, exactly the same!

Good news for you on Club insurance. I've used them once in the past but they regularly quote me a lot more.
The number of European days cover seems to be throwing both car and caravan insurance companies at present as they have not got around to changing it to the 90 in any 180 days clause.
