Caravan import duties after Brexit

I have always purchased my caravan abroad. Checking HM Gov website I can find no information on the personal import of a caravan. I know I would have to pay VAT @20% but does anyone know what the import duty is on say a 20,000€ caravan? Or where I can find that information?

Good question. You could try phoning HMRC. Good luck with that if you do.

Don't forget that with the UK being outside the EU, one can get any VAT already paid abroad refunded at the time of export.

Thank you all. I was rather hoping someone may have done it since 1/1/21!  I know that in the distant past some dealers, especially those in Germany and the Netherlands did not charge VAT on caravans which were exported  immediately. I await an actual example of a successful mission!!!

Why not contact a continental dealer directly and ask them the situation?
