If in the majority of cases the book just clutters up the bookshelf for two years, there really is little point in continuing to produce and send it. A bit like the telephone directories. However, unless the CAMC give folks the option of a digital membership, they are not going to find out.

With the reply you have recieved and also the different take with the reply i recieved ,and and another different reply to another poster ,seems that what has been suspected for quite some time the left and right hands at EGH are all working remotely from each other
The first reply i recieved advised that i should have recieved the new Handbook i could find them all in that

I think it likely the book and map will eventually be phased out, even if it’s only because of cost saving or to improve their environmental profile. A few years ago it was more of a necessity. However, phone / device ownership has increased dramatically and 4G coverage improved significantly. Perhaps a good half way house would be a downloadable PDF, as DK suggested. As paper use wouldn’t be an issue it could even contain prices, which could be updated annually. To minimise file size it could be issued in separate sections, club sites, CL’s, commercial and other info. Just download any sections you require.

well no, I'm not really following the It doesn't have a "from" price for a three day mini cruise when referring to a three week trip round the Adriatic.
Why would it advertise a three day cruise when referring to a longer trip? Doesn't make sense at all. Can you opt for a three day trip as part of a three week trip?
yes the cruise companies have a "from" price which is for the cheapest cabin grade for a particular cruise
Does a particular cruise mean a particular date? or does that cabin keep it's prices for all dates? If so brilliant, but never noticed that on Thompsons or whatever it's called now.
Sorry CY it appears to me exactly the same as the club's from price.

The bottom line is quite simple. The club doesn't have a paper price list at the moment, is that correct? Personally I wouldn't use one and just see the on line prices if I needed to.
If this lack of a paper price list is really a great problem to some then don't use club sites. Don't waste your time, find a site or club that does.
Personally I think under the current situation it would be the least of my worries if I was buying or booking anything as along as the prices were somewhere on line?
But it would appear that as club sites are filling up quite nicely anyway.
That's the true bottom line price isn't it, outfits on pitches?

I note a report of one lost member because of this in a previous post.
Personally I do think that wasn't really the cause, or certainly the only reason of stopping membership, aren't good pitches on quality sites more important?

IT seems JVB has hit the nail on the head. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
My most recent Email to the Sites department bounced twice with "blocked for a technical reason". Have I been black-balled?
I therefore sent it to the General department with request to forward to the Sites department for a response. The General department came back back with an offer to put me on the list for a Price List which will be issued shortly notwithstanding that I had been told by the Sites department there wouldn't be one.

The answer to my question is in the club magazine. They say they can't print a list yet because they don't know how long the reduction in VAT will be available.
0 -
That’s a fairly poor excuse. It would be easy enough to produce it at the normal 20% with a note regarding the current reduction, that may / may not be extended.
What will they do if VAT is increased to 21 / 22 % ( to help pay the COVID bill ) in a future budget.

Just any excuse will do for them. They don't think about they print, as most will just accept what is put in front of them and won't question it.

SL wrote "What will they do if VAT is increased to 21 / 22 % ( to help pay the COVID bill ) in a future budget."
That's exactly the point I raised in my Email. They didn't answer the question though, merely said they'd add me to the pile for a price list.

Have just emailed them asking for a paper copy of the price list. It will be interesting to see if I get a response.

Just received the same response as CY

I have just come in on this post after talking an hour ago to Live Chat about the supplement.
The bottom line is according to their reply that the supplement is not available yet and my request has been out onto a waiting list, (there words) for delivery when it's available.
I haven't read all the replies to this post but it seems that people have sent off emails re the whereabouts of the list. So something doesn't seem right. The book was published with site details so a price supplement should have been in the pipeline at the same time. It's weeks since I received my handbook so surely they've had time to print a supplement
Why do I want a supplement? Because as a member I should be entitled to it to go with the handbook. Not everyone has internet facilities when away from home on tour and wanting to plan ahead.

I thought there was an answer about the site price lists in the latest magazine?

From what's been posted on here you might be in for a long wait. Might be easier and certainly quicker to get the prices by looking at each the prices on each site's webpage, or do a trial booking?

Appreciating that keeping prices updated may be difficult it would be useful to even establish what dates are low, medium and high season. At least that would be a start. We want to plan a couple of months travel and find being able to plan quite complex

CAMC have been decidedly evasive in providing a price list. The pricing dates change almost fortnightly, making it even harder to estimate what the costs are. The only definitive way is to go online and look at each individual site. Most unsatisfactory.
1 -
well another way is you could also do a 'booking' to see what the price would be? That is probably easier as it will give you the price you will pay without any adding up needed on your part?
Yes I know it is still online, just another way.

But such a faff, having to got through the checking availability process for each site just to find out when the different seasons apply to each individual site one might want to visit. At least with the printed list it was a simple process. Not everyone can afford, or wish, to pay peak prices, unlike your good self.

Misleading prices? Bladon Chains for example, shows price from £12.30
This is for one person + pitch, only available for the first 2 weeks in November for non electric pitch without awning, of which there are only 4 pitches.
The site closes on the 6th September!!!!
