2021 site price guide

A seller can quote a price as plus Vat. CMC does not define VAT rate in their prices. Nor does any site as far as I recall. What CMC have done is give their rate inclusive of standard VAT and apply a discount on booking (last time I looked) if the VAT has reduced. They do not have to as you could pay the given rate ad they could pocket the vat reduction.

How do people choose their stays away? I wonder what order or priorities they use? dates then sites, or sites then dates, or always prices first? I would have said dates or sites first?
Certainly for us it depends on the type of stay, short break sort of need a weekend away, in which case dates first then location. For longer holidays it will be location first then see if the dates are available?
Do some choose a site then look for the cheapest or cheaper period? Maybe why not?
Does it matter? I'm sure each will choose their own preferred method? And really no different to booking any type of holiday.
In all cases at looking at the price guide on the site's page will do that perfectly and easily? Or do a trial booking then see the price, if it's too much adjust the dates?

Location always first for us Corners, area we want to stay in, things we want to do or see. Then we explore different Site options....CLs, private Sites, etc..... If it’s a no facility or racecourse Club Site, we tend to look how much, but don’t even go to full facility Club Sites to be honest. Too busy, too expensive for what we need.
We can be flexible on dates luckily. We might pay more for one Site, then save on another, so we achieve some sort of average per night fee.

Where we want to end up and then whats on the journey to our destination ,prices? what ever it costs to stay where we want ,that is what took the time the other night fitting in as much a possible to our final destination and dates to fit in ,
In that order

Except for our December Chillout we never go away for less than 30 nights and 6 sites.
First for us is a route generally using either sites that we have not used before to visit locations not visited closely or sites we have not visited in the last 5 years.
The route is paramount with areas we either don't know or have forgotten.
Price is of the least important.

As you say the seller can quote the price plus VAT but they must make it clear. If CAMC is quoting a rate inclusive of standard rate VAT they must pay that VAT amount to HMRC. They cannot mislead the customer into paying one rate and pay HMRC less.

As you say, you can’t do a test booking. There is a breakdown invoice given at Club Site when you arrive and pay. It gives pitch fees, person fees and a VAT summary. As I haven’t been on a Club Site since last January, no idea if VAT adjustment is shown, but I somehow think it will be. I am sure the Club is fully aware of its obligations to customers in terms of ensuring correct pricing information is passed on.

The track along the coast road has been open for years but I wonder if it had been closed for repairs. Not sure when you went David but when I drove down it December 2019 I think that there were some maintenance works going on. I prefer the older part and love watching the corvids come to roost. I love to see any of the corvid family. Crosby is nearby to see the Iron men on the beach. usually visit the red squirrels at Formby point as well but I think that they have recently been hit by squirrel pox again

Ooh look, a weblink. That's going to be really useful when I have no phone signal or only a limited amount of available data on my phone/tablet. We need a product that works without electrickery. The Sites handbook isn't it.

Some advice please CY, I recall you've done a lot of holiday cruises and were booking some? What is the best way to book and check prices? From holiday companies' websites or would you advise getting a brochure? What's your preferred method?
Do these holiday companies also have a from price that you dislike so much?

Afternoon
I can't really see the point in the cost of printing prices for a product that might not possibly be for sale.
Easiest way at present is to make a provisional booking for the sites? dates you want, the price is there before you confirm.

Quite.
and in answer to Corners, each cruise has a price displayed for each cabin grade. Browsing a catalogue enables us to choose one we find good value. The nuts and bolts are done online.
Why do I get the feeling that this discourse is turning into a CAMC can do no wrong camp versus those who find the SD has its shortcomings.

thanks I'll use that method then, and do they have that annoying from price you don't like?

Not sure there is going to be a price guide list this year. An elderly friend of ours phoned the club as he doesn't have internet or a smart phone so relies totally on the site guide and price list when planning a trip. He was told by a member of staff that there was no plans to produce a price list. He has not renewed his membership.

Both clubs are now the same then. I have no doubt that printed supplementary price list would be of interest to some. I would not use it however.

Since you seem determined to pursue this to the bitter end, yes the cruise companies have a "from" price which is for the cheapest cabin grade for a particular cruise. It doesn't have a "from" price for a three day mini cruise when referring to a three week trip round the Adriatic.
This is unlike the CAMC whose nightly "from" price refers to something like three available days in the back end of November which is sod all use when trying to price a break in July.
Is that clear enough for you!

Following correspondence with CAMC, I received the following reply to my concerns.
"I appreciate your concerns about internet availability whilst touring and some members do not use computers or smart phones.
At the present time, there is a reduction on VAT effective until 31st March. It is not known yet whether the Chancellor will extend this scheme.
Therefore, any printed information could be inaccurate, whereas we can update the website with the correct data.
I hope you will be able to enjoy a holiday before too long.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me."
I have responded as follows :-
"Thank you for your reply although it has still not addressed the issues I have outlined in previous Emails.
Whilst I appreciate the VAT situation could impact on prices in any publication, that could apply in any year depending on the Chancellor’s Budget announcements.
Production of a PDF, with the information extracted from a relevant spreadsheet of pricing data could still be provided on the website for download. Updating should the VAT position change would be a relatively quick and simple procedure with the uploading of a revised PDF.
Is this such a difficult task for an organisation the size of CAMC?
Is it being unreasonable to expect prices to be "readily" available even if offline? I note a report of one lost member because of this in a previous post.

That holds little water. They managed easily enough on site web pages
Remember, you only pay 5% VAT until March 2021. A 12.5% reduction on all published prices will be applied to your booking when you arrive and pay for your stay on site.
