Does anyone at the club know whether or not Uttoxeter Race Course site will reopen? It’s one of our favourite, local sites.

    As you are in a Tier 3 area you are not permitted to go and stay in any other region than your own....or at least that's my reading of the rules.

    However the site information states that it will not be open for the rest of 2020.

    It's a racecourse site and only leased by the club for certain months each year. It almost certainly will not have the same opening and closing dates as club owned sites and it will be down to the racecourse owners whether the site opens at all during the pandemic.

    I was under the impression that it never used to be open all year.  Just checked for next year and it states it's open from 10 March - 29 November 2021.  But obviously that will depend  on what the situation is by then. At the moment it isn't possible to book anything, all dates are blocked off.

    On another note: I had a look at Cheltenham Racecourse site for next year, it's the same there - the opening dates are on the website, but all dates for 2021 are blocked off.

    It will be the same with all Racecourse sites, for reasons TW explained above.

    In addition, racecourse site opening dates cannot be released until the course operator advises the club of the race meeting timetable as most sites either restrict, or do not allow, caravan arrivals/departures on race days.

    Thanks for your replies. I am well aware what tier we are in. It makes sense that Uttoxeter can't release dates without knowing what the situation is next year and they also do restrict arrivals/departures on race days, I hadn't though about that.
