As some of us get older any car that one does not need help to get out of once inside, is a fine day run about  and if it can tow a reasonable size two berth caravan at the monent is a bonus and fine by us surprised

ps as long as it is proven to be as reliable as the Kia stable arewink

Having towed with DSG and TC equipped cars in my experience there is no difference in reversing. The TC does have smoother gear changes although i miss the freewheel aspect of the DSG.

A lot depends on the type of caravaner you are. If you only ever use main sites with good roads you may well get away with FWD. If like me you use CLs without hard standings then 4WD is important, if not essential. I have on occasions been asked to tow off both caravans and even motorhomes who got stuck once the rain arrived.

I wonder how long it will be before we see a hydrogen cell car in the towcar of the year tests, It seems to me that they will be a much better option once the infrastructure is in place to support them

Having looked at the tow cars afraid nothing excites me really and OH does not even bother looking and still happy with his older Toyota Landcruiser very much a 4x4 man after 6 Landrovers older models though.

Yes I agree, a futile exercise. The Skoda estate is a fine car but over £31k, you have got to be joking! I also noticed the Jaguar IPace was included at a cost of £76k+ with a towing limit of 750 kgs! I rest my case.
