Was wondering why no reminder to renew had not arrived and just discovered that if your driving licence expired this year there is an 11 month extension due to COVID.

Mine is a 3-year Over 70s licence PD and I got a reminder a while back ( as I posted else where on CT I'm sure  undecided ) Got a new photo, sent it off and now I'm the proud owner of a fresh new 3year licence.  I will look for the dates if you wish  wink

Mine did take a little longer, PP07, but I think it was because they had to verify that the piccy was of a living person  cry

Thanks for the feedback, I have not had a letter stating there is an 11 month extension but the feedback indicates it is worth applying for renewal rather than waiting for the DVLA reminder I will get round to it this week..

Must give the DVLC a pat on the back for a good job done. I was 70 yesterday and only read that the 11 month extension while great for this country was no good for Europe. So on the 4th December went on line and sent for my new over 70s free licence. Surprise or what when this morning the 9th the new plastic licence arrived (still had the old paper one). What service from both the DVLA and the post people., I have passed up on the so called Grandfather rights as my motorhome is 3.5 ton and cannot see me having a bigger or more importantly a van  heavier than 3.5T. This I think made for a faster transaction which now allows me if possible to travel to our normal winter destination Spain for the winter.

With "No deal" looming, we will be precluded from travel under EU Covid restrictions as we do not have a "corridor" arrangement.

Thank you for a timely reminder.  Being 70 next year, it looks like I'm going to have to apply for a new licence.  How the heck did I get to 70..... (well at least next May)?  The trouble is, I don't feel that old!  😃😃
