Lockdown
Now that we have entered the first day of lockdown 2 I think it would be good to lock down this forum and give everyone a rest from the events of covid–19 which has taken over our lives, especially on here. Whilst in a forum lock down it would give the Mods and Rowena time to tidy up the forum by deleting all locked posts on Covid-19, especially “Covid Madness” which is approaching 1500 posts. So when we come out of the other side we can hopefully get back to sane discussions and start enjoying the forum once again. I live in hope of nice friendly replies only.

"Or we could concentrate on travel and caravanning harry and try to cheer ourselves up a bit reliving past joys"
That's the whole idea of my post, forget C-19
My first outing this year when things opened up was in August on a cl in Wales. A basic no frills cl. A young family, mam, dad and two young boys with their very first caravan were on site enjoying every minute of the day just being kids. This looked to be new to them being in the outdoors. Climbing trees, building a dam in the stream, hide and seek in the heather and running in and out of the van with not a care in the world. Fully encouraged my man and dad.
We just sat there watching, enjoying and thinking of what they thought of it all. They didn't have to tell us, we could see.
We never did get their names.

I store my van at Chapel Lane. Like in the last lockdown I am banned from visiting my van. I have no intention of taking it out of storage. During the winter I visit the van about every 3 weeks, check and change damp crystals but more particularly with the help of the mover I move the van by rolling back and forward several times to let the air through the tyres and of course always bring it to rest on a slightly different spot. When I came to have the van serviced as the lockdown came to an end I discovered that the tyres had cracked. They were 2 years old. It cost me £120 to replace them. Discussions with dealers, tyre specialists and the service manager all said that the damage was almost certainly caused by the van being static. It is now patently obvious with Ricki Ticki Tavi announcing furlough till March 2021 the same thing is going to happen.
Thank you caravan club for your care and consideration.

You’ll be able to visit in about a month, hopefully. Why not put the van up on axle stands to take the weight off the tyres?
That's an unusual name. Are you a Dragracer?

I used to block up my caravan during the winter plus I always had wheel covers on all year when on the drive.

The thing is Harry, is that even though people are posting on the Covid thread, one doesn't have to open or read any of it?
Perhaps for some it is a (much needed?) way of letting off some steam?
That last sentence is not meant to be in any way to be negative or in a nasty way. This Covid has brought stress levels up.
