Hello

Has anyone any experience of the Avtex Tourer Two Sat Nav GPS device.

Christmas is coming up and I an thinking of buying one through the club shop, but I have read a quick review of the Sat Nav, and the issue that jumped out at me was that, allegedly, when you update the maps on the computer you loose all the Caravan & Motorhome Club data.

Does anyone know if this is true or not.

Thank you

Malcolm

That is not the case with my "tourer" which is now nearly 4 years old so probably tourer 1.Map updates have not interfered with other data .

I'm also in the market for a satnav as my latest MH doesn't have built in one.

With regard to the above issue, is it not possible to upload a POI file as one could with old TOmTom systems?

I'm wondering how the Avtex compares with the Aguri although I'm inclined towards a TomTom based system as I'm familiar with that.

I have the Avtex Tourer 2 and find it first class albeit a little expensive.  Updates are easily done either by connecting to a computer or directly, without a computer,  with WiFi and neither loses the CAMC site details.  Traffic problems show up well as do sharp bends and windy conditions as well as a glimpse of mobile phone text messages.  Would highly recommend.  Check out Capital outdoors who sometimes can be cheaper than CAMC.

After further research, I decided that the £80 differential swung it for TomTom Camper. I also used to the TomTom interface.
