Winter opening of sites

To relieve the tedium of Covid shielding, my wife and I want to do short one- to three-day trips throughout the winter in our motorhome around Devon and Cornwall (and perhaps Dorset) but we're struggling to find sites that remain open throughout the winter.

Has anyone any suggestions? We'd ideally like an EHU and we have two little dogs and like seaside or country walks. Can't go to pubs or restaurants yet.

Moderator Edit:

I've amended the title of your thread and Deleted User references to CLs to keep this one to sites only.

Carnon Downs AS is open all year but not many sites in Cornwall are. Try searching on UK Campsites for all year sites.

Experiencing today's weather, I’d not recommend the area to anyone😆

    www.ukcampsite.co.uk

TW is right. With the above website you can tick the open all year box as a filter and it breaks the sites down in counties. It doesn't cost anything to join and many members on here use for reference.

UKCS has 129 all year sites listed in Cornwall, 127 in Devon and 65 in Dorset - but you will want to whittle them down to get hard standings. Even so there are plenty to choose from.

You could look at the CL Bookings on Facebook. They have a map which has links to a large number of CLs and an availability calendar.

Have a look at Higher Bochym Farm CL on the Lizard in Cornwall. All pitches hard standing and fully serviced. WiFi provided too. It’s a great area to explore.

If you tick the boxes on the CL search for Open all year, EHU, and Dogs Welcome there are plenty of CLs available. This is the easiest way to find them.

Have a look at Reen Cross Farm, Goonhavern, much improved over recent years. Easy access to any number of little footpaths, also the huge dog friendly beach at Perranporth and Penhale Dunes. Also convenient for exploring the north coast all the way from St Ives in the south to Padstow further north. smile
