    Today we noticed that they have installed an elsan point by the visitor's centre at the Muir of Dinar Nature Reserve for the use of M/Hs stopping overnight but there are strict instructions that those staying overnight must take their litter away. Didn't notice if there was an honesty box for payment of fees for stopping.

    There are quite a few springing up in Scotland some facilities are even being "Crowd Funded"

    Thanks for the link Peedee. Although I probably won't use the facilities I thought it worth a small donation of £10 plus gift aid. Seems a good idea.

    There are some small sites up there already.

    A pity if the area is getting so overcrowded it needs sheds on these lovely beaches. To be honest I think vehicles need to be well away from the beaches to keep them as unspoilt as possible (but that's my take on it.)

    Make sure you have an up to date map. I found this one at home, cost 3s6d not many bridges, ferries available. wink

    Hope you don't mind a comment from a complete novice having recently purchased a motorhome 2 weeks ago.

    I am a keen biker and have been on the receiving end of a line of motorhomes blocking all traffic along the road into Applecross. It causes absolute chaos. In many places it is completely impossible to pull off the road.

    Not a place for motorhomes or caravans in my view unless you can time it so there is little or no other traffic about.

    Kasspa. By all means take account of what others have said - a lot of it is relevant.  However, my suggestion is to move your trip forward to April/May if possible.  We spent a month from 10.4.19 doing all of the NC500, cycling, walking and generally enjoying ourselves.  We had then a 7.4m m/home and never experienced any problems at all.  We winged it, finding places to stop without difficulty almost at a whim. Go for it!

    Thanks Mike, yes have followed the route on Google Maps & have opted to omit Applecross on my planned route.

    I have a fast 4 wheeled vehicle that we tour in & tend to diligently assess what is appropriate or not.....

    Thanks NE10, unfortunately have Wales booked for May, so June it has to be.....

    Have secured sites mostly to ensure OH is 'happy' wink
