Tyre valve extenders
Hi, after checking my tyre pressures and struggling to get the inflator attached without removing the wheel trims, I thought about fitting extenders to the valves, has anyone else done this and will it have any effect on the tpms?

If external, it could if it extends them clear of the rim protection, as they could be impacted by small stones, as well as subject to more spray. The sensors provided with our system were fairly large and protruded clear. All but one failed in less than two years. The replacements were much more squat, placing them below the rim, they are still all working.

Steve is right, as long as you can keep the sensors within the protection of the rim you should not have any problems. My rear wheels are fitted with extenders and TPMS sensors and they are held in place to keep them within the rim and stop them flapping about by some supports which anchor to the wheel rim cover nuts. I had to remove the sensors from the front wheels because they were too exposed, water got into them and they kept failing,
Extenders come in a variety of lengths.

Thanks everyone, I'll probably just remove the wheel trims in future and replace the securing cable ties!
